It's Apo! I had some trouble figuring out what she would be doing/what their pose should be, because they can come across very differently depending on the POV and I haven't seen hers. Luckily @dbseamz responded to one of my polls and really helped me out! (on that note, if any Cleo, Pearl or Abolish fans have any ideas for things those characters could be doing, please let me know!!)
Her current pose may not make complete sense, but that's because they're interacting with characters who aren't there yet lol
I chose to have Apo look human (or stage 1 vampire I guess) because I wanted to give her a happy ending (so maybe they got cured somehow? Or they were never turned in the first place? Idk you decide)

Like with Drift, I had some trouble figuring out which colors to use for Apo. I didn't have the right color tinfoil for her hair, so I ended up using nail polish to make it
(I also lost the hair at some point, so I had to remake it)
Other than that, I don't have a lot to say so here's a couple of progress pictures! I had a lot of fun making Apo and I hope you like the result as much as I do :D

Part 5 of Series Where I Make Various Vampires SMP Characters Out Of Tinfoil Until I Lose Motivationâ„¢
It's Pyro! While I haven't watched Pyro's POV, I've seen so much passion from his fans that I really wanted to do the character justice and I hope I did!
I like to think of this series as the vsmp characters taking a group photo. In this scenario, I imagine Pyro was feeling a little insecure/unsure of where to be, but Shelby is making sure they feel included <3
I also made Dorito the rat (with a little vampire cape) :3

I realized that it's probably unclear how big these sculptures actually are, so to rectify that I measured Pyro! He is about 7,5 cm/2,95 inch tall :D
When making these sculptures, there's often a moment where everything clicks for me and the sculpture starts feeling like the character. For Pyro this happened when I started adding his coat. Before that he looked like this:
Here you can also see how I can kind of 'cheat' with layered clothing: I wanted it to seem like Pyro was wearing long sleeves under their coat, but didn't actually make them long. I also ended up changing the color of his shirt (I used a marker to make it a bit darker)

Fun fact: Pyro has a rubber duck sticker under their coat because yeahhz really wanted me to add a sticker! It's only visible when looking at a specific angle, but it's there!
This one happened because yeahhz insisted I give Pyro a temporary wig while I was working on their actual hair. I somehow came up with this
As for her opinion on this hairstyle, when I showed it again while writing this post she said she's happy Pyro can finally let out his inner self (note that neither of us have seen Pyro's POV and therefore do not know if this is an accurate statement)

Part 4 of Series Where I Make Various Vampires SMP Characters Out Of Tinfoil Until I Lose Motivationâ„¢
Character 4 is Drift! With that, I've finished and posted the 2006 vampires+Avid, which was my initial goal when I started working on this project in December. Now that goal has expanded to making everyone. At this point, I've started making the 7th character, Owen (no poll this time because he already lost the last 2 lol). I'm hoping to post the next character (Pyro) pretty soon as well!
Here's the full outfit :3 I'm especially happy with the way her boots ended up

Initially Drift was going to have both of her arms leaning on the chair, but then I realized that she wasn't interacting with Avid at all, so I changed her arm so they could hold hands <3 I love their dynamic so much I couldn't have them not interact
Every character comes with their own challenges when making them and Drift was obviously no different. Her pose is much less complicated than the other vampires', except for the fact that her hand kind of blocks her face, which made that part a bit more difficult
Her color scheme is also very different from the vsmp characters I'd made before her, with a lot of different shades of brown, which is always difficult since I'm pretty limited in my color palette
Fun fact: when making a character, the hair is usually the last part I make, which means that every character goes through a bald phase

Part 3 of The Series Where I Make Various Vampires SMP Characters Out Of Tinfoil Until I Lose Motivationâ„¢
Character 3 is Shelby! Her POV is one that I haven't watched (yet), but I love everything I've seen of them in other POV's (and the fandom in general). I especially loved her dynamic with Scott so I wanted to show them being very comfortable with being in each other's personal space. I think Shelby might be the only person allowed to use Scott as an armrest (and I also think she would take full advantage of that)
I wanted to quickly thank everyone who voted on my most recent poll!! I got some really nice and helpful comments on that post, which I really appreciated :D

Something relatively new that I've been doing with this series is using magnets to keep the characters in place without having to use glue. As a bonus, it also means I can put them in the wrong places like this :)
Out of all the characters I've made so far, Shelby has the most magnets (four in total: one in her leg, two in the arm with the white sleeve and one in the other arm). I considered putting another magnet in the hand on Scott's head, but I didn't want to risk ruining his hair :/
It's been a really interesting challenge to try to translate the vampires' minecraft skins to more realistic/detailed sculptures and I keep finding details that confuse me. For Shelby, I was really confused by their differently colored sleeves. I've seen a lot of artists interpret their black sleeve as a cape, but that doesn't explain why she had it as a human as well?? According to the official art, she's wearing a sweater, but why would it have different sleeves??? I'm so confused
Ultimately I went with regular sleeves, because I didn't want to make another cape xD

Part 2 of The Series Where I Make Various Vampires SMP Characters Out Of Tinfoil Until I Lose Motivationâ„¢
Character 2 is Avid! His POV is the second one I watched and it's still one of my favorites. I really love his character and his videos are very well edited and have some really good music (go listen to Not Right if you haven't already!!)
I wanted to show both Avid and Scott's character growth with their posing, with Avid invading Scott's personal space (he's not scared of Scott anymore) and Scott letting him (he finally allows people to (physically and emotionally) get close to him)
In terms of relationships, I want to keep them open to interpretation, so feel free to decide for yourself whether character interactions are platonic or romantic :D
Finally, I wanted to thank everyone who voted on the poll! Pyro ended up winning, so he's the next character I'll be working on (and I've already started!)

I started with Scott, because that's the first pov I watched and I loved his character and design sm
I already finished making 2 other characters (feel free to guess who if you want) and am working on character number 4, so there will definitely be posts for those :D
For the final day of Doomsday, here's some old art of Hiccup and Toothless! I made most of it in 2024, but stopped because Hiccup's hair was a nightmare to make. I ended up mostly finishing them this summer and did the finishing touches today
Some fun facts:
- Tried a different style for Hiccup's face and I'm really happy with the result even if I'm not planning to use this style very often. It turned out very cute!
- Hiccup is be wearing his firesuit, which I showed by drawing A LOT of scales on it
- Hiccup's book has a little drawing on each page. They are all tiny versions of actual httyd book pages! (I will put images of them in a separate post (linked below) in case anyone wants to see them and/or find their irl counterparts)
