ok thank god there's so many fucking videos showing you how to do a ladder stitch like it's some kind of magic trick but here's the actual use case for it: closing a seam you can't reach the inside of. in all other cases, if you're fixing a ripped seam on pants, or on a tshirt, the ladder stitch is a messy, glorified running stitch.

The Yarn Harlot, in one of her older blog posts musing on negative space in art in general, described knitting lace as "putting yarn around important and select parts of air".
I think about that every time I work on a lace project.
Lace (and other fiber crafts) are like how others describe music: the silence between notes [yarn around important and select parts of air], or sound and silence organized through time [a pattern].

Here's a blanket I'm still working on. It's made of mostly thick, partially wool yarn (still mostly acryllic), and I'm using a simple granny stitch.
I also did some stitching with coppery yarn in the centre. I was kind of going for blood vessels combined with roots in a frosty, dark forest setting. Kind of like the "heart of the forest" in a bit more of an anatomical sense. ⋆⍋♡₊˚⋆. ⚘ 𓍊𓋼𓍊˚⋆.

It looks like a weird scarf thing right now... I chained 230 with a 5 mm hook, I hope that's enough?
I'll try to make it a habit to post a pic on the progress once a week! I'm really excited!
Third weeks progress! It's a little more green now since it's been a bit warmer. I love the different colours :3
Fourth week! The temperature has been really consistent this week, keeping between 0 and 5 C°. It's quite a bit warmer than usual for January.
I'm considering if I should make a divider between the months... I'm not sure yet. Maybe I'll just add something to the border later??
Ok. I have encountered a problem. I want to rip my hair out.
Since I'm doing single crochet and also not turning my work, my edges are not straight.
I didn't anticipate this being so noticeable when I first started, and now I feel real stupid for it. This wouldn't have been a problem if I had turned my work instead of working in the same direction.
If anything, this teaches me to do more research and testing before starting big projects :D At least I realised this early on. Now, to frogging! I'll try Moss Stitch instead.
Oops! Forgot to post the progress!
I restarted the whole thing with Moss Stitch, and it turned out really well! I kinda miss the smooth look of just SC, but it's still a lot of fun to make!
End of week 6, now onto week 7!
Week 7 finished!
It's been pretty much the same temperature throughout the whole week, except for the weekend where it got colder.
Aaand that was week 8! It's growing!
Week 9! I've been so busy with work that I'm surprised I managed to keep up!
From now on, I think I'll post the progress once a month instead of once a week :) I'll still take pictures for myself, though!
Aagh, I've fallen behind! I've been working so much, plus also gotten my drivers licence (yippie!!) there's not been a lot of free time over. But now I have a completely free weekend!
Here is the rest of March! It's been getting warmer, so many more colours are coming :) Now, onto April!
Welp. It's been quite some time, but now April is finally finished!
I've been keeping track of the temperatures but haven't been able to keep up with crocheting. I have a free weekend ahead of me, I'll try to get some rows done :)
Aaand that's May! From now on, I’m pretty sure there won't be any more green for a while. It's been a hot summer this year, so many rows of coral and red coming up! It's exciting to work with new colours!
