I've decided I'm going to TRY to knit with this fucking super bulky yarn I have but after that I'm getting it out of this house and possibly into the trash. Never met a super bulky yarn that didn't want to be crocheted tight enough to actually be a basket. Insane.

Undyed yarn from wrzosówka wool looks good on its own, but even better alongside with birch (bark on the left and leaves on the right).
I do not think that I like the floppiness of crochet baskets despite this being made with a 5mm hook and super bulky yarn. I'd rather have an actual basket, and this yarn is too thick for the texture to work for a bag I'd like to use (especially in one color).
Second project in about a week or so to go upside down in my stash busting process. The knit hat went fine and cut the stash of one particular yarn in half, but the single skein of fingering weight rayon just couldn't amount to anything I'd want, and the 1.5 balls of DMC natural XL is the same except this one twists up on me. I'm sleeping on it and then probably letting it go to someone who wants it.
Ok the bright side, the next projects are mini sweaters (to learn the ropes and use up yarn), a test knit (first knit amigurumi!), socks with patons kroy, and maybe some stripey stockings with the leftover yarn from the test knit! Then it's on to 3 sweaters and possibly a paint by numbers kit in between. :-)

spun up a 1 oz sample of jacob sheep wool and I didn't really like it... I don't see the appeal. It was like right in between being bouncy or drapey, it didn't want to be one or the either, while also being coarser than other things I've spun. It didn't feel good on my fingers and my spindle didn't like it either- it kept backspinning no matter what I did. An exercise in frustration.
It's definitely underplied in some places. I plied it over the stairs banister and it was tricky to add more spin when the spindle is ten feet below me. I just didn't care enough. Which feels kind of bad- these sheep are really cool looking and are an important heritage breed.
I feel pretty proud of myself that I can thread worsted weight yarn into the eye of my needle without looking
This is poor lighting, but I got a stand and I’m making loads of progress now.
