EDIT: so I watched this video quite late at night when I wasnβt at my sharpest, quite honestly needed something to cheer me up, and I just screen-capped this quote without too much thought. I realise in hindsight, after multiple people have correctly called it out, that it was a misstep on my part, and I should have given proper credit to the filmmaker Brennan is quoting in the video, Akira Kurosawa, from his film Seven Samurai. Stating that Brennan is my favourite poet was meant as a bit of a joke, but I realise now how harmful that was when I failed to mention heβs quoting a poc artist. That was entirely on me and I apologise. We should always strive to do better and listen when weβre called out on mistakes. I didnβt think this post would blow up so much but as a consequence this has led to some damaging misinformation and Iβm truly sorry for that.
