Big yapperino to explain story prior to scenario of Adelaide bot:
Marcquise (eldest of Chau family) decided to change his younger brother's specialty and made an agreement with Adelaide's father to train Raul.
Skeptic of his brother's plans but still finding himself unable to disobey, Raul was forced to abandon medical school in favor of being trained by the technicians and there he meets Adelaide.
During this time Leana had gotten into her first car crash, obliterating her elder brother's car completely. After a long and exhausting talk, the brothers found out she was passionate about any job as long as it involved driving. With some connections and pinch of luck, she was then allowed to work as a private chauffeur. However much to Raul's dismay, Leana began working for Adelaide.
After a while, Supervisor Inoue and Technician Chau began getting along, as Adelaide began to trust Raul with confidential information regarding the work.
However, Raul's trust in Inoue broke after he found out stacks of submissions made for his and his sister's neural pattern to be donated, without the said people's consent. Assuming her submissions would be accepted without hesitation, his wariness of Adelaide began to grow.
And then, one day, as Adelaide was on a night shift with Raul, a fire broke out in one of the wings of the neural archive. It was unexpected, and the moment she rushed outside to reach a phone booth, Inoue caught a bullet in the shoulder.
The culprit of such deed was of course, Raul Chau.
He didn't mean to kill her. He wanted to slow her down so that the fire would take time to eat at every single evidence of her plans towards him and his sister.
Appalled and confused, Adelaide was left alone and bitter after the fire, refusing to work or even come out of the house. While this was happening, Leana was already working for another client.
The Technician Chau didn't leave unscathed after this incident either. Interrogated by his brother and receiving a beating of his lifetime that left him without a tooth, Raul was found guilty of his crimes, and sent to S-23 Sierpinski for re-education.
