Dinah had been bored almost all day. Greaseball was busy with getting ready for the next arena season and so she couldn’t really go bother her and most of her friends were either getting the arena ready or were also getting ready to fight themselves.

So she had been sitting in her room, basically all day without having anything better to do. Dinah stared at the ceiling, wondering if there was anything to do around the house. She could possibly bother her sister, but she must be getting ready for the arena season too! She was Greaseball’s partner after all…

Her feelings of guilt about bothering her sister in such a busy time eventually became lesser than her overarching boredom she was feeling. So she got up from her bed and walked over to her sister’s room. 

A knock on the door later and she came in, only to see Dreamer surrounded by notebooks and scrolling on her laptop that stood right in front of her. “Uhm, bad time?” Dinah asked her, mentally cursing at herself for still going to Dreamer even though she knew she’d be busy.

Said sister managed to tear her eyes away from the screen, blinking a few times to refocus in the real world and looking at her sister. “Not a bad time at all. I’m just seeing if I can find anything on social media about training for the arena season.”

“Why?” The words slipped out of Dinah, before she could stop them. 

Dreamer simply looked at her and sighed. “Well you see the list of who will be joining in the fight aren’t out yet, for some reason they’re being delayed and I think one of the contestants is the reason for that.” She said as she put her attention back on her screen as she beckoned Dinah over. “You see, usually the only reason they delay these lists is if either someone is a mystery contestant, they have a lot of money or both. So I was trying to see if I could find training videos of any mystery contestant videos.”

Dinah stood still for a moment, processing all of this smart information her sister was throwing at her. Suddenly it finally clicked. “Ohhhh.” She walked over to Dreamer and sat beside her, trying to mind all of the scattered notebooks and markers around her. “Well, have you found anything yet?”

The fire wielding girl groaned. “No.”

A silence fell over them as Dreamer continued to doomscroll this tag, hoping to find something, anything on social media to help out her plan.

Dinah could tell she was getting tired and was about to either give up, or put the laptop away for some type of break. That’s when the both of them came across a video. 

Dreamer was about to scroll past, but Dinah quickly stopped her. “Wait! I don’t think I’ve ever seen these silver themed people before.” She said as she looked at the individuals in the video. 

In the video there were five people, four of them looking to match each other and one that stood out, but still somehow fit in.

There was a rather buff woman in a silver mechanic overalls whose sleeves were currently tied around her waist, her upper body dressed in a black tank top. From what Dinah could see was that she wore black gloves and black steel toed boots.

Her hair was dyed platinum blond and it was fluffy, it made Dinah want to just put her hands through it. A totally normal thought to have. Either way. 

She was currently crossing her arms and looking rather unamused… And Dinah couldn’t help, but notice the way her biceps looked bigger with this pose and she was totally normal about this particular fact. 

The camera shook slightly and pointed towards the right to see a man who was a lot more amused than the previous woman.

He was lanky with his hair slicked back, one rather carefully plucked out strand in the middle of his head, leaning forwards and down his face slightly. 

The man wore a rather expensive looking training outfit, one that was clearly specifically made for his needs and probably powers. Sadly Dinah wasn’t specifically trained in noticing what it would be, but it was probably important information for Dreamer. That’s at least what she expected as she saw Dreamer quickly pull out her notes and write something down. 

Other than that the most noticeable thing was his make up. It was silver and blue, sharp and in general was beautifully done. It reminded Dinah of a lot of the show make-up that many Quintens used in the show arena. 

Such a funny word still: Quintens. It was the name for someone that had elemental powers like her and her sister had. Who even came up with that name? It sounded so weird. Either way she was getting distracted. 

That’s when the camera quickly was flipped to the front facing camera to show off another woman extremely briefly. 

Dreamer quickly went back into the video and paused it so that both her and Dinah could get a better look at her. From what could be seen she also had platinum blond hair, but with red underneath it to make it sometimes peak out. 

She wore black lipstick and silver make-up that was similar to the previous man’s make-up. Dinah couldn’t quite see what she was wearing from this angle, but what she could tell was that it was no formal get up. 

When the video was unpaused it showed the last two people. One was a rather short man that was easily said to be built like a brick wall. Not in the way that he was a big build man, but the fact that Dinah could tell that if she walked against him, she’d be on the floor and he wouldn’t have budged an inch. 

He also had on a rather expensive training outfit, something that was made especially for him, but there were some modifications that Dinah could notice. Luckily she knew what the usual training outfit looked like and it was definitely padded, but not padded like this. 

“Oh he’s in full armor.” Dreamer mumbled under her breath as she wrote some more notes down in her arena notebook. Dinah was slightly scared of that thing; every single person that fought or could fight in the arena was written in there and the best way to take them down. She’d always been afraid to ask, but she was pretty sure she was in there as well. 

“So he’s not in a training outfit?” The water girl asked as she still was rather clueless about all of this.

The fire girl simply hummed. “You can see it from the padding, although he’s wearing more armor than is usually put on these things. So he must be extremely strong to keep carrying all that weight around, it’s in his power or both.”

“That makes sense.”

Beside the man was a rather intimidatingly large person. The last person in the video and the one that stood out the most. They had platinum blond hair as well, slicked back with purple/blue-ish streaks that made it look like lightning down the two sides of their head. 

They had rather dramatic make-up that left Dinah simply speechless. It was beautiful with silver, blue and a bit of purple mixed in. The best way to describe it was that it resembled drag make-up with how dramatic it framed their face. “Wow.” Was the only thing that could come out of Dinah’s mouth.

Lastly was their outfit: it was the easiest to point out that they were wearing a main fighter’s outfit. It was spiky, padded and completely themed towards them. Dinah could already tell that they most likely had lightning powers, it was out on the open like most main fighters had it. 

That’s when the camera shook once more, the woman behind the camera clearly quickly moving towards somewhere. “I’m tired of holding this camera. Film this shit for me, will you?” She asked a person they couldn’t see. WIthout waiting for an answer, she shoved the camera in their hands and quickly walked back to watch the show. 

When it focussed once more the large person seemed to be laughing with their hands on their hips. “I’m not sure if you have much to teach me. I happen to be rather good at fighting in the arena by now.” They said, ego and confidence rolling off of them in waves. 

“So you’re saying you’d be ready for anything thrown your way?” The smaller man in front of them asked as he calmly adjusted his gear as the lightning wielder laughed. “Obviously, there’s nothing you can possibly throw at me that I won’t see comi-”

They were quickly cut off as the shorter man kicked his leg back with impressive speed and with a full kick that held nothing back, kicked the larger person in the crotch area with his steel toed boots. 

The reactions that came next came quickly.

The lightning wielder doubled over as they put their hands over their crotch area. Sure they had padding to protect them, but steel-toed boots plus the strength that this man seemed to possess were simply enough to break through it enough to hurt like a motherfucker. 

In the background the earlier three were also seen. 

The buff woman quickly put her hands over her temples, clearly tired from the antics and seemingly realizing she had work to do. 

The lanky man’s jaw quickly fell as a surprised scoff came out of his mouth.

Meanwhile the last woman that held the camera earlier, seemed to immediately double over laughing.

The man who was the cause for all of this, put his hands on his hips, not impressed by the reaction of the lightning wielder. "Disappointing.” Was all he said as he looked down at the kneeling person. “Get up, we’re not done yet. Walk it off.” He said with obvious sass in his voice. 

The last thing that was seen was the lanky man suddenly coming into view once more in the camera, a lot closer than before. “This man has a license by the way.” Was all that was said, before the video cut off. 

Dinah slowly looked over at Dreamer with a few blinks, unsure of what to really think about the video. 

Dreamer on the other hand had a smirk on her face. “I like the style of this man.” She simply said as she closed the laptop and stretched. “That’s enough searching for today, I’ll figure out more about these five another time. Wanna get started on dinner together?” Dinah quickly shook herself out of the shock she was experiencing and nodded excitedly at her sister. “Sounds good!” She said as she stood up after Dreamer.
