I'm gonna preface this with, I'm not caught up on the Denia installments on Wuwa's story, so I'm going based on snippets and overarching themes here. I could be missing a big chunk of context (if so, please let me know). That saidā
re: this whole theme of being a creation and having a heart...
Where was this energy for Avidius?!
Rover's being so kind to Denia because she's a puppet who questions the nature of her existence as a fabricated being. And coming up with these anime-worthy motivational speeches.
Avidius? Rover and Galbrena were SO quick to dismiss him after the fact with "oh he wasn't real." Where's the respect for *his* fabricated existence?? Was it merely that the timing of his arc was *during* the rising action and not *after?* idk man, I think he deserved better from Wuwa's themes AND protagonist.
This has been on my mind for a while nowā¦
Do new quests in Wuwa feel like itās just walking, exposition, and then cinematics. To clarify, I am not questioning the story, I am critiquing the gameplay.
Remember chapter 1 - we had the Court of Savantae and the time mechanism that we had to solve? Or those floor-is-lava like side missions? Or the banyan tree with the poison that needed to be neutralized? Those were soo much fun. I was actively doing something during the quests. And there were mini bosses or fights as well.
Now the fights are just, youāll beat sigilum even if your health goes to zero (the game heals you). Iām your average player, sometimes I miss the dodge and get hit. I noticed the game makes it easy for you pass these quests. This is taking away the fun (atleast for me).
When I think about it, this reflects in the overworld exploration as well. Earlier, we had these in-world mini games to find and solve (which we still have) but itās spoon fed to us? Travel here, boom solve the puzzle. Boom hereās the Soliskin. Boom, hereās the track challenge. Five mins youāre done. Exploring complete in a short span.
Like let me find some notes lying around with some info about the lore. Let me work for it. And not just give me all info after completing 100% of the area. Even finding the chests now is just a jump. š
I remember being sooo excited about the banyan tree, the whining aix area, even reinasita had that Fagaceae Peninsula area with that tacet discord that we had to fight after nullifying its buffs (it was a nice change of pace) or that town where there are tacet discords roaming during the night but normal people during the day. (On a side note do these things even have a significance to the story anymore? Like who is that lifer dude at Fagaceae Peninsula? How is it significant to Raguna? Or was it just an exploration thing for the sake of it?)
Or as someone else on YouTube pointed out walking and just discovering that the broken down car is actually a tacet discord in Hualong. That was crazy!! The whole idea that anything could be a tacet discord. Those signal ones, those were a nuisance when I had to do that one mission on blackshores. Or even just climbing atop a building in Guixu to find a note that give me some interesting information. That made it soooo satisfying. Atleast thatās what I think overworld exploration should be.
I donāt like comparing but remember those missions in Genshin where you could explore that Draginspine and find those red crystals which would upgrade the tree, which would in turn give us some rewards. Wasnāt that fun?! I think Wuwa had that at one point - pioneer association which gave us cool utility upgrades. It made the whole experience more tangible.
I donāt hate the bike, ok. But like it just took away from this experience. It just made things too easy to access? And the flight could really have been avoided. I searched sooo many roya settlements and most of them had nothing - they were just scenery with sporadic information (about the lore, the areas culture, Easter egg). And itās easily missed if not paying attention- which again why would I be paying attention because everything is either being spoon fed OR just some unnecessary exposition - like some project is due and the student is just rambling on about it (Multiple times).
If I had to honestly explain, why even make an overworld at all if itās going to be not be an integral part of your gameplay. And like spoon feeding is not it.
I am not saying that there is no effort put into the design. But I can say without doubt that itās really beautiful, and a crazy load of effort must have gone into it from conception to execution. But there are games which donāt focus on exploration but other aspects. Do that and save me space on my device.
I think Kuro games has regularly released patches, great new events and fun and innovative mini leisure games, loads of new characters, areas etc releasing almost every patch. Man, they spoil us. And it takes effort obviously. But like sometimes itās better to give 100% to 5 things rather than 50% to 10.
I know it sounds like Iām just cribbing/ being harsh. but think about it, I can only talk to so many NPCs before it gets boring because it leads nowhere. The game is not even rewarding me for talking to people (I know there used to be those stars we got if you spoke to some npcs - does that still happen?). Itās not that I am not trying to explore - I found that St. Nikolas guy in the Roya Frostlands and it was such a happy Easter egg? I even made a post about it!! Or that one student and a Roya person discussing science and spirituality (that was a cool conversation).
Did anyone else feel this?
As someone who got into WuWa largely for the exploration, I totally agree. IMO the empty world has been happening since 2.0, where large swathes of Rinascita just didnāt have anything meaningful to interact with. But itās getting worse.
Take the treasure spots for example. 1.0 had no marker for chests; you stumbled onto a mini game and upon completion, were rewarded with 1-3 chests. With a variety of mini games, it was really interesting and a good challenge to not only find them but also finish them.
2.0 had marked locations and 3-5 chests in the same formulaic gameplay, but even with Sensor it could be tricky actually finding all of them. Not super memorable but a decent time killer.
3.0ās treasure has genuinely not even been a form of gameplay. You teleport to location, grapple up, spin the camera a few times, and bada bing bada boom you get treasure! I leave with zero impression of the environment because I didnāt have to interact with the location at all. It makes ME feel lazy even though clearly the devs are the ones not investing the time.
And Iāve been skeptical of the MSQ and its āquick timeā events for a while now. The lack of a fail state is baffling, since you have to HAVE a fail state to even be considered a game. The boss fight invincibility is just another example of that.
I love WuWa, but it is not the same game it was two years ago. Whatever the admin change happening at Kuro, itās reflecting poorly in the actual game content.
Glad I am not the only one. And this is definitely not the game I started playing.
1.0 wasnāt that bad. But everytime a new region came up in Rinascita - Boer Waters, Avinoleum, Riccioli Islands, and then the two regions in Septimont. I could see lesser resources, scenery, and probably some echos here and there (which at this point who cares if I find them in the open world, we already have areas which we can travel to and enter the tacet field). Previously, to get a nightmare echo I had to unlock and area and then get fight the boss then I got it. Now itās another spawn area, that too that I can only once a day ?!
And then obviously the empty land. God I remember running around Boer Waters to see something worth interacting, wondering if I missed anything. Soo disappointing.
Or that dragon skeleton in Septimont, I thought there well be a more to that quest or something would happen with it. But all we got was a shitty two minute thing, I kept waiting for something to happen. Itās was genuinely just scenery.
I can genuinely see the decline every chapter. Hell, they have huge ass cliffs and a bike, make jumping a thing that give you rewards (like vice city). Thatās a minimum they could have done.
Or like the time when we were inside the dark side - instead of just walking behind Sigrika and going through portals, Kuro could have actively used those concepts to make puzzles (like the game Portal). Dark side would have been so much fun playing.
Kuro really needs to slow down and see what quality they are offering at this point.
Played the Dimmer Plains area and Iād like to say I really am enjoying the exploration here? Itās still flawed, and objectively small area and shorter than Iād like, but atleast itās much better than what happened in Septimont, Boer Waters, and even avinoliem. And there is some relationship to the story and not just random exploration. This is definitely what I want more of.
Apparently this is not common knowledge and this needs to be said -
But century is 100 years and a millennium is 1000. So when some one says this has been going on for two millenia itās 2000 years.
And Iāve seen this word thrown around a lot in Wuwa but a millenia is NOT a million years š.
Why did I come across a video of someone saying rover has existed for a millennia and in the next breath explain that the first lament took place 10,000 years ago and rover might have been present then.
This has been on my mind for a while nowā¦

so in wuwa 3.3, the story was so good! like, the art, the animations, THE MUSIC??? all pEAK.
however, i do have some gripes about it. like the fact that the whole Aleph-1 arc was only 3 patches long. unlike the Leviathan arc. that lasted 7 whole patches. 3.3 was really rushed ngl, i wish the Aleph-1 stuff was drawn out more so characters had room to breathe, build up more to it so we had a proper long fight with the cosmic space demon posing as a Threnodian. i'd have liked it if we had Rover finding a few things inside Aleph-1 while looking for Aemeath about their past that Aleph-1 had eaten - if Aemeath could find stuff related to things the cosmic space demon ate then why couldn't Rover?
also, kiiiiinda annoyed that Rover's past is so heavily intertwined with Lahai-Roi. didn't the dude MAKE the Black Shores? you'd think there'd be more people who knew him besides Shorekeeper and Camellya there that could sprinkle in some Rover lore. like what was he like as the head honcho? but sure, ok whatever. the whole Denia thing was suuuper rushed and ya'll can't deny that. the Threnodian Resonator Denia reveal needed more time, both to explore it and to "resolve" it. the reveal was sooo rushed. that definitely needed more time, especially to be a bigger threat.
there's just so much story stuff that was rushed. like why add Chisa in the finale of the Aleph-1 arc if she wasn't going to have any lines? and that one line she got outside of the cutscene doesn't count since most people would already be running to go complete the quest, so they (and i) end up missing it.
also FOR GODS' SAKE KURO MAKE THE SHAPER PLAYABLE!!! his design is so fucking good like, IF HE WAS GONNA BE A NORMAL ASS NPC JUST MAKE HIM MORE BLAND or looking more like those other top Roya people, so much detail for a model that ain't ever gonna be used. like, you just established that he can leave his glorified prison so it's not like he's perma stuck there.
i'll talk about the new region in a different post as i have a lot to say about that.
Just completed the 3.3 patch.
And I am finally happy with the direction. SPOILERS AHEAD!
Iām going to detail my thoughts out later. But overall I am satisfied. I loved the arc and the conclusion to the Lahai Roi story. (Or atleast it seemed like that with rover saying heās gonna leave Lahai Roi soon? But then with Lucilla and Denia yet to come maybe itās not over?)
Hiyuki, that I initially thought wasnāt as excited about - I ended up enjoying her story (although I was a little skeptical when the arc started). Especially her guilt and wanting to shoulder the blame of what happened to Ashinohara - GA wanting her to become the threnodians resonator - rover telling her itās not one hero saving but the effort of everyone working towards it (including those who died). The whole reason/ experiment that Fractsidus was carring out in Lahai Roi and Rinascita.
Things that left me confused - her powers of āsacrificing a futureā her sword style being that of the flaming Sakura - all seem more cultivation fantasy novel rather than a resonance skill. But in the gamesā defense, I am not going to pull for her to even understand her power so I canāt really complain. Also, what is a shiratori? Who are Mikos? (A better way to describe my confusion would be my love-hate relationship with the previous two patches made me not pay attention to anything important- completely on me, gotta redo this)
Obv I was really emotional about everything Aemeath related, Rover wanting to tell her he was proud of her, and getting to tell her that. All those people lost to the void space helping Aemeath and subsequently the spacetrek scientists which led to rover being able to fight Aleph-1. Chefs kiss. It was peak. Not to mention the Mecha fight. PEAK.
Things I was a little confused about - why were students (specifically Sigrika, Lynae, and Chisa) there? Didnāt it make more sense for them to come over after we get the Sigil coordinates, when Lucilla calls for people to help (immediately after discovering the coordinates on the cassette). Iād question lucilla as a president (and teachers or any adults present there too) in this case. Also, why wasnāt Luuk there?! Kuro really be hating male characters (no really, why wasnāt he the only one missing in the whole lineup?!) But thankfully shaper was there. They got to make him playable. Itās ridiculous he isnāt (again he could have been the sigil guy instead of Sigrika - there is nothing that can make me interested in her. Donāt get me started on the senior thing).
Denia - honestly, her dying would have been great for the story. Increasing the stakes, making GAās plans and his action feel that much more sinister. She really seems unnecessary (atleast currently).
I also think it would have been so much more terrifying but great payoff if Aemeath was released this patch - after we save her. So weād not know if we would be able to save her (during 3.1). Missed opportunity I guess. Kuro should not announce resonators in advance or atleast in Aemeathās case. Missing out on the suspense element - it would have even a great surprise.
On a side note- Iād love main quests if there were more mini games or some interaction beyond just walking and talking. Eg - how we interacted with objects in Luuk quest to know about his past OR the CSC mechanisms during Mt. Firmament quests etc. I do understand itās difficult all the time. Which is why I feel some of the quests (looking at sigrikas quest) could be avoided. Donāt give a main quest lable, make it a companion quest (or Make it an event quest. The whole dark side could have been an event.
All-in-all 8.5/10
Another lukewarm questā¦
Honestly, for the first time I was sooo bored playing a patch. I was even tempted to skip all the dialogue (at one point I just tapped through Hiyuki and Lucilleās conversation and quickly read the whole thing at the end. That too because I didnāt want to miss out on something relavent).
Also, does it feel like quests have become us just walking/running and dialogue, there is really nothing more to it⦠I miss when we had more mechanics and mini games and ofcourse fights. I literally had to push myself to complete the last two quests.
The only thing worth mentioning this quest is Denia - last patch her characterization left me confused, because if they were setting her to a villain (or someone who is being used) they could have done a better job. Eg - cristoforo; or the whole arc with Lupa (With C pulling the strings) and even Carthetiyaās whole struggle (I was going to say the whole Augusta wanting to sacrifice herself arc but it really isnāt their best work. good but could have been better. But atleast I was emotionally invested in it and the story). Even, Nivora was better. And she seems to be working for the Fractsidus. In retrospect it might be because they canāt keep pulling a nivora again and again. It loses its novelty. Let see where it goes, hopefully Kuro has better plans for future.
Also, about Hiyuki, not that sheās a bad character, but at this point I feel so disappointed with the story that I am not really excited for her. What made it worse was the really boring side quest where we help that black shore girl out to know more about Hiyuki. God if not for the free astrites I wouldnāt have done it. Iām left that dissatisfied essentially.
Personally, this whole story quest/ chapter 3 peaked at Aemeath and Luuk and things have been going downhill since (in part because of kuroās money making schemes but more on that in a minute).
Kuro might as well, cut down on the amount of quests per chapter and give us quality and a good chunk of time⦠honestly could have cut down on sigrikas quest and made it a character story quest. things donāt feel cohesive anymore to me but hopefully things take a turn after the anniversary quest release (kuro could have totally not released a new quest and focused on the anniversary thing š¤·āāļø. Id not be upset. Kuro has been so good otherwise, donāt know what happened here)
So hereās a little rant (also this goes without saying I am your average player not the best at fights, and there are so many times I rely on my key smashing skills to fight a boss š¤·āāļøš)-
It feels like Kuro is slowly more focused on making people just give them money irrespective of the quality of content. Donāt ask me how rare it is to pull characters you want. Every time i am 100% going to get atleast one character from the normal Convene (that too after multiple pullsā¦) why are normal characters a part of the pool?! (Weirdly same applies for weapons)ā¦
We now have hyper specific teams (you canāt play a particular character without their specific support) and most of the times even the healer. Not to mention all these characters release back to back, sometimes even the same patch. Fun⦠š¤©
And itās become increasingly difficult to build your echoes because youāre not going to get the crit rate/dmg etc. percentages to even play the character. Their solution introduce something like a modifier which is again difficult to get without money.
And if thatās not enough, you canāt play the character without their weapons⦠because again itās so difficult to reach the percentages otherwise. Moreover, you need to pull a character multiple times to unlock their best damage (s3 even in some cases). Itās so frustrating, I stopped playing Genshin for this reason and now this?!!
Honestly, I could do we a couple of characters and story quests less and more of better story.
Donāt get me started with how annoying it was when Luuk came out. He had so much potential. But Kuro decided to not give him a dedicated sub-dps (when thatās all they have been doing). And he has shitty crowd control. He then he comes out immediately after Aemeath (how many players are going to have astrites left after that?!) and immediately around the time of this release they subtly release info on the anniversary characters?! Worse part of the whole mess was clicking the wrong video on YouTube and ending up seeing gooners celebrating how much of a failure Luuk was and Kuro should learn a lessonš
Itās so rare to get a male character, even rare is that they are relavent to the plot and not just there in the background (Jiyan being the last one). They did jack shit with Brant.
Finally, this a personal opinion. Anyone can correct me, comment etc as long as itās not a personal attack.
Just frustrating! I wanted to pull for Mornye , and I pulled a Verina⦠again before getting her. Was trying to build her echos - and obv instead of Energy Regen and Defense I obviously got crit rate and crit damage (btw percentages ranging in the double digits which is so rare when you really need it). I am really starting to hate Kuro a little.
Ahh didnāt want to hijack someoneās post by being critical of the game. So making a separate post
Someone recently made a post about doing Aemeathās quest and noted feeling devastated despite knowing spoilers.
I wanted to say that this⦠emotional connection to the story (not just a character falling for Rover); and not only that but how this added to the story; giving more meaning to Roverās motivations (the subsequent questions raised in luuks quest and his whole conversation with rover at the end). Not to mention the lore drops⦠all the more makes me be critical of the last two questsā¦

Just did 3.1, Aemeath's quest, for wuwa, and even with spoilers, I was not expecting how hard that it was going to hit, until that one scene. I mean I knew I was cooked but I didn't realize that I'd be fucking burned instead.
Eg - cristoforo; or the whole arc with Lupa (With C pulling the strings) and even Carthetiyaās whole struggle (I was going to say the whole Augusta wanting to sacrifice herself arc but it really isnāt their best work. good but could have been better. at least I was emotionally invested in it and the story, though) Even, Nivoraās characterization was better.
What made it worse was the really boring side quest where we help that blackshores girl out and get to know more about Hiyuki. God if not for the free astrites I wouldnāt have done it. Iām left THAT dissatisfied, essentially.
Personally, this whole story quest/ 3.0 peaked at Aemeath and Luukās chapters and things have been going downhill since (in part because of kuroās money making schemes but more on that in a minute).
Kuro might as well, cut down on the amount of quests per chapter and give us quality with a good chunk of time per quest⦠honestly they could have cut down on sigrikas quest and made it a character story quest (really shitty way to introduce dark side of academia). things donāt feel cohesive anymore to me but hopefully things take a turn after the anniversary quest release (kuro really doesnāt have to keep releasing a new quest every patch. And rather focus on the anniversary thing š¤·āāļø. Iād not be upset.
Every time Iām trying to pull a 5-star from their respective banners i am 100% going to get atleast one character from the normal Convene (that too after multiple pullsā¦) why are normal characters a part of the pool?! (Weirdly this same applies for weapons)ā¦
We now have hyper specific teams (you canāt play a particular character without their specific support) and most of the times even a dedicated healer. Not to mention all these characters release back to back, sometimes even the same patch. Fun⦠š¤©
And itās become increasingly difficult to build your echoes because youāre not going to get the crit rate/dmg etc. percentages to even play the character as an average player. Kuroās solution - introduce something like a modifier, which again, is difficult to get without money.
And if thatās not enough, you canāt play characters now without their weapons⦠because again itās become difficult to reach the percentages without them. Moreover, you need to pull a character multiple times to unlock their best damage (s3 even in some cases).
Itās so frustrating, I stopped playing Genshin for this reason and now this?!! Honestly, I could do with less characters and story quests each major chapter (1.0, 2.0, 3.0ā¦) and more quality story.
Even Qiyuan felt like a side note.
Finally, this a personal opinion. Anyone can correct me, comment etc as long as itās not a personal attack.
Ahh finally got a chance to finish Sigrikas quest and I was dissatisfied. (This is more of a personal experience)
In the sense that itās not that I didnt enjoy it. I definitely had fun playing the mini games, the portal (referring to the game) like concepts being introduced in the ādark sideā (it was a little disappointing that kuro didnāt play much with it).
This felt more like a segue quest than Luukās quest. Especially in terms of its scope with respect to the whole Wuwa story as a whole.
I am really questioning why could this have not been a character story?
I mean I understand this was supposed something the grand architect planned. But itās not enough for me to liken it to main quest. This kind of reminds me of Lunoās arc which was again a main quest and not called a segue.
Itās good that Luuk was involved in the quest to some degree, because he is shown as a major player (atleast in the Lahai Roi region, if not more, and definitely has potential to appear in future quests - wrt to his past, being an undercover agent, and having connections with stories and areas outside LR) and it would have been weird to not have him involved at all.
I also didnāt enjoy or understand deniaās character as much either. Why is she always so unnatural? (I can understand stoic but she seems off to me not stoic) is she supposed to be someone we should be suspicious of? And going the whole canteralla way? Then we donāt even get that buildup. I was sort of hoping the āherā at the top of rabelle college was denia just so that we can get a little more time with her and get some sort of read to denia than what ever was shown (Iād we are supposed to even not get a read on her, there are definitely better ways to show that).
I was really excited for Sigrika but doesnāt her arc feel a bit similar to that of Cartethiya? Chosen one (blessed maiden vs future member of Heliodic Six) with everyoneās hopes resting on her, in case of Sigrika everyone itās more of peopleās expectations; Them both being haunted by their respective burden; at one point even question their own roles and feeling they are not worth it etc.) I am saying itās the same (of course they are different characters) it just echoes similar? Did anyone else feel that?
It felt like Wuwa is just introducing more characters without them having teeth in the story. Give me three less characters, but give me more relavent characters (and not just a promise of some future relevance like Qiyuan)
When I was playing Luuks quest I had so much to think about in such a short time how was that a segue quest?!
Also, it felt like Kuro added the extra time to the quest by having exposition, talks, loops, walking etc⦠rather than needed content.
Again, this is a personal experience.
they finally let out some of luuk's infos
Sad that Kuro is done releasing Luuk content now that Sigrika is coming. I know Aemeath is a favorite child (literally) but it felt like they were pushing out content for her every day for a month while Luuk got five days.

RIP to this particular Fractsidus member who was definitely using their phone when they shouldn't have been šŖ¦šāØ
cn wuwa posted a new content about luuk and this caught my attention. this message is pinned at the top of all of his messages and this was years ago and it says:
"everything at the academy is going well, so thereās no need to worry. the students are as enthusiastic and interesting as ever. the snowy scenery is also very beautiful, perfect for relaxing. how about you? have you been well lately?"
...and the red "x" said it was "failed to send"
i'm assuming luuk's message is for rover? :(
