The new villain in the xuanfang storyline is genuinely the stupidest, most useless, most pretentious I've ever seen in wuwa. There has been NO build-up to the villain's appearance and subsequent unveiling of their evil plan. Said evil plan was extremely easy to guess (which made the "characters try to figure out what's going on part very boring) and also completely aimless in its circular logic. This guy is simply having delusions of grandeur and is possibly ailing ftom a neurological disease. I was intrigued when he said he wasn't a part of Fractsidus, expecting there to be some moral quandary at play while the Sentinel is absent and the land is suffering the aftermath of war, disaster, and a build-up of resentment throughout the years. Even the stupid Xuanling plotline could have worked if they just allowed the story to unfold more slowly, but no— they wanted the cool moments, the climax, the mystery, the world building, the detective work, and all of that AT THE SAME PATCH. The pump-and-dump nature of it is just painful after all those cool stories with proper build up that we got before. I genuinely didn't mind the Huanglong, Rinascita, Septimont and Lahai Roi chapters. They got their time to marinate, and when it was the perfect time, the camera came in, the cinematic filter went up, and I was glued the whole time.
Xuanfang is just plain boring. They didn't even put a skip button on it. Either they should have written well or they should have let people skip it.
