You’re being extremely distasteful when you demand something like that. People are dying.

It’s so crazy seeing the rise of the sentiment that “this has been going on for too long,” except instead of it being focused on the fact that Palestinians are still being liberally genocided (while others face fate worse than death), it’s about posts related to spreading awareness and boosting fundraisers. Like that really should not be the focus of your ire right now. Being disturbed by gofundme posts while the people posting them are dying is actually demented behavior

You think you're done with therapy but then get anxiety and start dreading doing a friend a favour because for some reason you were fully expecting some sort of backlash for trying to do the right thing. Scolded for not asking permission, for doing it wrong, for inconveniencing other people, just bracing yourself for The Consequences, with no idea what the fuck the consequences would even be, and then realise like wow. What the fuck was wrong with the people who raised me like this.

I think some people forget that some literature and some media is meant to be deeply uncomfortable and unsettling. It's meant to make you have a very visceral reaction to it. If you genuinely can't handle these stories then you are under no obligation to consume them but acting as if they have no purpose or as if people don't have a right to tell these stories, stories that often relate to the darkest or most disturbing parts of life, then you should do some introspection.
