In a world where diamonds can be used to bring people back to life, what would happen to diamonds?

Would the state/the church take all of them, only giving them out for emergencies like national heroes being killed or nobles being assassinated?

Would diamonds become more and more rare because they keep being consumed?

What would a diamond worth a specific amount even be like? If it can be used to bring people back to life, that would increase the value by a lot so I imagine most gems being really tiny, just the right size for the specific spells. Remember, it’s not a shiny rock worth 500 gold. It’s the possibility to bring someone back to life.

It’s not a bad RPG idea or strictly related, but in a world where diamonds can literally raise the dead, giving your partner a diamond ring for a wedding suddenly becomes a much more meaningful thing.
