i tag almost everything. i have a pretty robust tagging system for pieces of media, people/characters, places, ships etc. this blog pretty much functions as a repository for things i like.

this blog is over 13 years old. i've kept it around for sentimentality and to preserve stuff i still enjoy. if you ever see my handle attached to wildly outdated posts, remember people can grow and change.

"the loss we needed to have" is a cliche but i hope we start asking questions about our process now instead of halfway through 20 tests. this australian team is built for stealing wins off shit tips rather than a tailormade for test cricket deck like this one. as much as we're crying out for young blood i don't think this setup is particularly conducive to letting younger players work out a long term game, greenie said it himself going back to basics away from the national side was what helped him and he gritted it out like no one else could.

on the flip side we basically never do well in the first game of the summer (england being stupid saved us last time). so who knows. i could be talking total bullshit next week. i doubt the side will change for mackay and i don't think it needs to, but it should be an acid test, less for the players and more for the backroom
