the best analogy imo for ocd is mosquito bite. its so itchy its driving you crazy and you know scratching it will make it itch so much worse later but you need it to stop right now and scratching it feels so good and even when you dont want to scratch it and you feel like you could handle the itch you cant even stop your hand from scratching the second you stop focusing on not scratching. except ☝️ what if it was inside your brain and instead of an itch it was terrifying overwhelming distress

#in an incredible twist of fate‚ mosquito bites and picking at my skin are so entirely separate for me #im sure the nerve damage doesnt help but worst ill do to a mqto bite is press my nail into it once or twice within the hour of getting it #my skin gets The Implements #hey by the way dont pick at your skin where theres not good blood flow btw. because. youre way more likely to get an infection because it #heals way slower and theres less white blood cells to actually deal with the infection #ask me how i know #anyway id say ocd is like that except they're both compulsions so. yeah it literally is just that
