Indigenous-led resistance to 21 fossil fuel projects in the U.S. and Canada over the past decade has stopped or delayed an amount of greenhouse gas pollution equivalent to at least one-quarter of annual U.S. and Canadian emissions.

This is despite an onslaught of attacks against Indigenous activists over the past few years. Over the last few years, victories won against projects through direct actions have led to more than 35 states enacting anti-protest laws, jail time for protestors, thousands of dollars of fines, and even the killing of prominent activists.

Indigenous rights and responsibilities “are far more than rhetorical devices — they are tangible structures impacting the viability of fossil fuel expansion.” Through physically disrupting construction and legally challenging projects, Indigenous resistance has directly stopped projects expected to produce 780 million metric tons of greenhouse gases every year and is actively fighting projects that would dump more than 800 million metric tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year.

The analysis, which used publicly released data and calculations from nine different environmental and oil regulation groups, found that roughly 1.587 billion metric tons of annual greenhouse gas emissions have been halted. That’s the equivalent pollution of approximately 400 new coal-fired power plants — more than are still operating in the United States and Canada — or roughly 345 million passenger vehicles — more than all vehicles on the road in these countries.

Support Wafaa’s fight for safety and health: Wafa @wafaaresh3 is a university graduate from Gaza and she and her family have been displaced ten times throughout this genocide- her mother suffers from hypotension and needs access to treatment.

Donate to Helping Lama and Mohammed Evacuate from Gaza: Lama and Mohammed, along with their family of 12 (@mohammed-gaza10) have lost their homes and their jobs in this genocide and have been forcibly displaced to Rafah. As of writing this post they are only €7,000 away from their goal, and your donation could help them greatly.

The occupation destroyed her home, her livelihood, her community, and her family. Two of her young children were martyred when the occupation bombed their home.

Being unable to make a living, Rana, her husband, and their two surviving children are extremely desperate. They are displaced with no resources, and they have no money to purchase increasingly scarce food.

They’ve created a campaign to survive, but they have not yet received a single donation. Please support them as best you can, and share their campaign so it receives more visibility.

Muhammad and Mona are a young family with two beautiful daughters, 6 year old Iman and 5 year old Toleen. i have been keeping in contact with Mona on whatsapp for a while and the things she tells me are beyond horror. there are rumors of the border crossing opening soon, so they need funds for that (30,000$ for all 4 members of the family), but even more urgently - funds to just survive.

Iman and Toleen, these vibrant, fun-loving little girls are forced to go through WINTER in a thin, nylon tent with a torn roof! the outrageous prices of any clothes at all leave the sisters sharing a single pair of torn slippers. and somehow, their parents still need to buy food.

this campaign is stagnating, and the goal is a very achievable one. even if all of my followers donated 10 dollars, they would be set!

currently they need around a 1500$ for a new tent, and around 1000$ for winter clothes for the girls.

wafaa graduated from university and wanted to travel, work and have a chance to do many things, but the war has devastated her plans. her families house was destroyed and they've been displaced more than 10 times since then. they have no access to food, clean water or medicine and diseases are widespread. wafaa's mother suffers from hypertension, but they cant find any medication and is her condition is getting worse. the IDF has severely restricted the amount of aid that reaches gaza, and continue to send displaced people on what are essentially death marches by shrinking and changing the "safe zones".

it is hard to state how many peoples dreams, ambitions, and lives have been destroyed or cut short in just a matter of seconds. its unconscionable that anyone should have to suffer this way. to anyone reading this– especially those reading this in the comfort of their homes, in cities that are still standing– put yourself in the shoes of people who have lost everything and consider how important and life changing these donation campaigns could be.

whatever you think you would be doing during the holocaust is what you are doing right now. i think constantly about all of the refugees whos lives were saved- against all odds- through the help of many people, often anonymous strangers. this is really important and peoples lives are at risk. so please– consider gravity of this situation and help support wafaa and her family. every donation helps

My eldest son Zain's first year at school was a joy for his school, friends and teachers. His life was like the life of any child who dreams of everything beautiful.

My second son, Yahya, was in his first year of kindergarten,and he would wake up early, happy to go to his friends and play.

Or do they now wake up to the sounds of planes and explosions and feel ashamed when they stand in line to get food or water? A terrible difference between our lives in the past and the present. A year between our stable life and the life of war, no education, no games, no life, no security, and no source of income. How long, world, where is humanity, where are the rights of my children? muhammad is only 26. he's younger than i am. it breaks my heart that this is something he has to worry about. unfortunately, it is, and he's got his family to worry about too:

they've lost their home in the war. they are currently displaced in deir al balah. iman and toleen have gotten sick due to the conditions in the camp they're staying in. look at these sweet girls; they don't deserve this.

they deserve a home. they deserve warmth and safety. they deserve a cozy bed to sleep in every night, and a home to decorate with star-shaped lights like they had before.

this is not merely a dream they have; it is an attainable goal.

muhammad needs to raise €30k total to get his family out, of which he only has €5257 at the time of my writing this post. i am appealing to all of you who see this post to please share it. please donate whatever you can. i know a lot of people have been feeling hopeless especially now, but please don't. there is hope. if the people of palestine have hope and faith, so should we all. and now more than ever we need to work together to help them.

I'm Lama from Gaza, I'm 24 years old, and my husband is Mohammad... We got married in 2022 in a house full of love and happiness. Our house was beautiful, we chose everything in it carefully... We were waiting for the end of the day to go there after a tiring day of work, but the occupation did not leave us. 😔😭💔

This house was bombed with all hatred. Here we are after the genocide. We have nothing... We lost our house, our work, and our car.😭😞

We were displaced to Rafah in a tent that could not accommodate 5 people, and after the displacement from Rafah, we were displaced to Mawasi Khan Yunis again. It was a very difficult period... but now we are in Mawasi Khan Yunis in a tent that does not protect us from the cold of winter or the heat of summer.😞😭

This is our tent, its floor is made of cardboard, as you can see, and I suffer from severe eczema due to the pollution of the air and the materials used, and the medicine is very expensive.😭💔

Urgent: My husband needs a very necessary operation and medication. Please help my husband in order for his health to improve. He is in pain.😞😭🫂🙏🙏
