Van Drama Continues...

The van is still not inspected. We were only able to get a 30 day tag. This stupid hunk of steal has been nothing more than a nightmare that keeps getting worse.

I just got a call from my youngest. Now the oil is leaking all over the motor and it's smoking. The only problem the van hasn't had, an oil leak, has now suddenly developed one.

I'm fed up with putting money into the van to keep it barely running. We need another reliable and safe mini van. If we didn't live in such a rural area and I wasn't disabled, I would just haul off and junk it. I am that fed up. In fact, I am so fed up that I am close to saying, "Screw it!", and junking it anyway. It not like we have reliable transportation anyway. Who care if I miss my doctors appointments and medical tests.

My daughter just called me back. She is now stranded. The van won't run. Now I have to find a way to get her home and the van towed. I don't have a damn dime to pay for towing.

I'm not commonly very good at asking for things, but my friend has opened a gofundme on my behalf to help me successfully move out from my current housing situation and in preparation for becoming financially independent especially during university.

If possible please feel free to donate even a small amount would be greatly appreciated.

I will be attempting to open writing commission, thought I am struggling to land a job due to a variation of reason, commission seems to be a way for me to earn that money I will be posting my writing shortly as samples. The commission are for anything fanfiction, oc's, original work or a simple sentence prompt.

Who we are:

My name is Wren. I am a 30-year-old trans man who recently (with help from friends, family, and community) was able to escape the anti-trans policy and sentiment in Florida with my partner, Alex. I work as a full-time lead of learning and career development at my corporate job, and I am also the Editor-in-Chief of Transfix Magazine - a community-based indie publication that serves as a development ground for editorial skills within the trans/gender-expansive community.

Alex is a Puerto Rican trans man who works at a market and is also an artist. He is a huge believer in the power of art to bring together communities and create change. Inspired by artists like Haring and Basquiat, Alex incorporates his love of street art and community-building into colorful freestyle multimedia pieces that blend themes of love, community, and struggle.

What’s going on:

Over the past year, we have been able to live more safely and start putting down roots between NJ and NYC. We love being surrounded by our community and our queer history here! We have been staying with a friend and the plan was to save up enough to get into our own spot by the end of this July; however, my partner had a severe work injury that put him out of work for about 6 months, limiting us to a single income and paltry worker’s comp checks. I was fortunate enough to get a promotion (and a raise!) last month, but my partner had to have another emergency surgery to remove his appendix, which limited us to a single income for the second time.

At the end of the day, you can plan everything to a T, and life will throw a wrench right in the middle of those plans.

Between losing paychecks, transportation costs between the hospital and work, and mounting hospital bills, our savings have been completely depleted. Now, we have leads on a couple of affordable apartments, but we desperately need some help paying our move-in costs.
