i think it’s stuck with me cause, not that we needed proof or anything but , it showed us/confirmed that they do in fact hang out with each other, just the two of them, even tho we never saw that . like they really showed us their “private” relationship, but when they talked about it (literally just few time) or all the time we saw them taking pictures with the phones or with sophia camera (!!!!!!) , although they never posted not even one fucking photo lol, idk is so special too me , kinda feel like their relationship is “sacred” for them , so it’s for them and only them , not for the others people to look at, so when the rare moments like that happen (happened 💔) is even more special.

"grow up with you" is interesting. i think megan and lara have talked about watching each other grow up or like growing up together (unless i'm misremembering), but those two are actually the same age so that makes sense. dani didn't say "watch you grow up," which is what you'd get from a more "parental" or "older sibling" situation.

I should clarify what i mean when i say dani sees her as a sister. As an only child, when your friends (who have siblings) say they see you as a sister, you take that literal and to heart, even if they dont necessarily mean it that way. However, i do agree with you, that they arent as familial as other duos/ships (i for one cant see danon without sophia, SUNCHIP (HEAVY ON THIS ONE OBVI)) or as people think they are.

Dani gets labelled the tough, fierce (which she is), 'angry' 'mean girl' (which she isnt), even though they ALL have said how sweet and caring she is (ALL of katseye girls, DA girls, plus even the journalist in their most recent magazine interview). These labels allow people to dismiss so much about the real Dani; the vulnerabilities, the naivety (more on this in a sec), the giggly, fun-loving, carefree girl that makes the rest of her group laugh without even trying or knowing (https://www.tiktok.com/@kvtlsf/video/7657651455238671638) I could go on and on about Dani's mischaraterisation, and how its DEEPLY rooted in misogyny and xenophobia, but i think we all know it after numerous pieces of evidence to back this up.

Yoonchae gets mischaracterised as the young, innocent, NAIVE, baby of the group. While she is the youngest member, all the katz have made it clear 'she aint so innocent' (Dani's words). She's sassy, and fierce (all the things people want Dani to be, minus the angry and mean girl). She gives as good as she gets (she has to have lived with ragebaiting queen Sophia for so long). I can't remember if it was one of your answers or another blogs, but it said that while all the girls try to denounce this mischaracterisation of yoonchae, it is Dani who is the most staunch contraion because of her own mischaracterisation.

Yoonchae gets labelled naive when its Dani who asks 'too many questions' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfB3XM8fuIQ&t=118s), misses jokes, potentially misses the occasional social cue and is just generally oblivious (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzg840ngwsk when YOONCHAE was the first to get dirty minded (im really not sure??) and laugh at Dani, who i dont think really knows WHY the girls are laughing). yes these are maybe her adhd traits but is ultimately what makes her HER and what makes the girls love her so much.

I think Dani and Yoonchae's mischaracterisation is soooo interesting, particularly in the way it seems to mix them up in a way (i also think Meizini's also gets mixed up a lot too, RE: meizini manifesto). This plays in to how people see their dynamic, as the anon in the other ask speaks about the parentification of dani (loosing the ancient texts).

Im kind of loosing my point a little, but i think the fact that they are the two MOST ragebaited in the group is important to their dynamic in a way but also defnitely to dispelling their labels (if dani was really a 'mean girl' she wouldnt sit there and take it and laugh along with the girls jokes, and if Yoonchae wasnt really the 'innocent baby; of the group, she wouldnt dish it back (and dish it out to dani too).

dani, like, needs to be in on the joke at all times. i don't think she likes not knowing things. she doesn't like when someone tells her something, she asks them to repeat it, and they won't, to the point where she had a talk with the other girls about not doing that. sophia still uses it to ragebait her (via this youtube video. 15:47-16:07)

yeah despite how many times everyone in katseye has said yoonchae isn’t an innocent baby who knows nothing about the world, people are still very committed to clinging to that ideal. one day that illusion will shatter and it won’t be pretty

i think people need to understand that you are not holier than thou for excluding literally only one person in particular from your antics 🙏 by committing rpf and rps you are already inherently morally dubious. plus the way people talk about it you’d think the other girls had ten years on yoonchae and personally nursed her from birth. this obviously doesn’t invalidate anyone’s sincere discomfort surrounding her ships (specifically danchae), but if like two years from now no one would bat an eye at their age gap then it clearly wasn’t that crazy to begin with and the stigma shouldn’t exist. “i can’t believe people actually ship this” like, this is a fandom… that’s what fandom does… are people aware that none of them are actually related by blood.

unfortunately i’m danchae’s only shooter 💔 technically i’m a larper since i don’t engage with any katseye/eyekon content directly, but i’ve been monitoring katseye’s shipping space on social media and it’s pretty distasteful how fans mistreat every single one of those girls, but especially yoonchae since the discussions about her are almost always in bad faith or misinformed or lacking nuance etc. there’s something malicious about the way eyekons treat her both in rpf/rps context and regular context. as someone who biases her it’s really discouraging to see and i’m sure others feel the same way

for me personally, i hate the age gap between 17 and 21 and that’s how old they were when i started liking the group 🤷. probably not going to hold onto that forever lol but i am for rn

in a general, non-katseye sense, age gaps get less important as people age. being in different life stages/maturity levels stops mattering at a certain point (because you’re really not anymore) but is very important when you’re younger. 16 and 20 is a no no but 46 and 50 is nothing

17 and 21 is, to me, worse than 20 and 24, but i will bat an eye once when they’re those ages too. i'm just not the hugest fan of it (also applies to marz and m&m, don't worry. just a little less because of, again, everyone's ages when i started liking the group)

however, that’s only their age gap for 5 months, and 21 and 24/25 is whatever. i mean i wouldn’t personally for 20 and 24 or 21 and 24/25, but it’s not me and it isn’t real so 🤷

it’s also about the fact that they’ve known each other for a while. like i’d care a lot less about a random 20 and 24 year old who met five minutes ago, yk?
