Silly little person

At least not enough to understand Spamton as a character and his motivations, that he wasn't always this greedy and a scammer. Spamton doesn't exist in the story to be just comic relief or a love interest for Tenna or to be a purse dog for him. Spamton is his own character with flaws, beliefs, and fears. Or at least understand that he was never *anyone's* first choice, including Tenna! He was betrayed and neglected by everyone, especially when he needed it most.

I think the fandom doesn't quite understand how sad and *very serious* it is to be isolated for 10 years without a home, without clothes, without food, without even being seen properly as a citizen while being mentally and physically disabled and everyone denies your existence and still steals your products and ideas and how that affects your head.

Not that any of this justifies what Spamton did to Kris!! But the context is important. It just bothers me that people act like Spamton was having a great life with great stability and still wanted to do what he did (we already have a character who does all this and his name is Mettaton Undertale lmao)

He also doesn't have this grotesque appearance now for the lolz, he has this appearance as a result of being abandoned and having no help from anyone. Tenna (and nobody from the Cyber World, actually) has no right to be disgusted by Spamton's appearance if he is also partially responsible for it. Sure, maybe him becoming a puppet was inevitable because of the person on the phone, but if someone to provide him some support, he wouldn't be so deteriorated. Tenna didn't even do what was within his reach.

And with that, people also don't fully understand Tenna's character! He's not that silly little baby innocent saint victim who wouldn't hurt a fly (especially when he hurts Fun Gang when they don't do what he wants and mistreats its employees even before the dark fountain). He's not that wholesome; he's a grown man and he's actually very toxic. He's only wholesome when things are going his way, and when they don't, he never considers the feelings of his loved ones and even dismisses them (literally the definition of a toxic relationship lmao).

Just because he thinks he's the victim of the situation with Spamton doesn't make him the victim!!! From all of Tenna's actions up to this point in the game, it's already clear that he's not a reliable narrator or voice of reason. Most of the time, people/characters who are wrong think they're actually right in their own heads. We, as the audience, should analyze the characters based on the context and their actions and draw our own conclusions, rather than simply accepting whatever the character says so faithfully, especially when their actions contradict what they say.

Tenna said "It took a little sweet talk." Sweet talk means "insincerely praise (someone) in order to persuade them to do something." This is manipulation!! He was trying to manipulate Spamton. His intentions were never that pure.

And when Tenna noticed that Spamton was terrified, he never said he asked how Spamton was feeling or asked him to stay. That would be the perfect alibi for him to try to convince himself he at least did his part, wouldn't it? But he never said that. And if there's no mention of it, it's very safe to believe he never mentioned it because it didn't happen. His first action was to pick up the phone thinking "it was finally his chance to be a big shot". And even if Tenna had picked up the phone just to investigate and for no selfish reasons, he didn't even give Spamton any chance to explain himself or anything like that, he just imagined the worst. Hell, he really thought Spamton was faking a panic attack.

I don't mean to say that Tenna didn't love Spamton (because I think he did and still do), but whether he wants to or not, he clearly demonstrated with his actions that he didn't care *that much* about Spamton, at least not to the point of worrying about Spamton's well-being and that being his first priority.

That's why Spamton came to this same conclusion and that's why he's shaking with happiness and the first thing he says to Tenna is this:

Most fan guesses for his age is 50s, though considering the general age of CRTs, he may very well be in his 70s

So if you want to flatter him, call him
