I’ve been getting clips of both the valley and vanderpump rules on tiktok and it’s really reinforcing why I had to stop watching the valley. bc the shitty evil man of vpr are charming, campy, and funny. the guys on the valley bring nothing to the table but verbal abuse and sexual harassment. they could never give us it’s not about the pasta or I’m the number one guy in this group. the would never shave their foreheads or play trumpet in a band called charles mcmansion. it’s just 24/7 wah wah wah my wife won’t have sex with me because she just had a baby. bravo, get your act together

I generally find it pretty silly when people act like an adaptation they don’t like is in anyway taking something away from the original work they do like, and as I said when the emerald fennell wuthering heights came out, this concern only gets more nonsensical the more beloved and acclaimed the original story is. I’m looking forward to the odyssey and I think I’ll probably like it, but even if it was the worst abomination ever committed to celluloid it would not in any way impact the legacy of an almost 3,000 year old epic poem. bad adaptions cannot hurt you. they also cannot hurt works of literature older than jesus christ
