Maybe i’m narrow minded but i actually think the distinction is whether you do it/are trying to do it for a living. which does correlate to quality bc if you’re trying to live off your income from doing the thing you have more pressure to be good/improve. Doesn’t mean you don’t have another job to make ends meet but professional implies training/commitment/hustle

Ughhhh and unfortunately It’s also the MOST personally annoying topic to me, first gen brown daughter of immigrants, bc my parents are modern and “westernized” (which tumblr thinks means “bad”) while i have significant experience with more traditional indian households and. let me tell you. you do not want that. it works for some and not for others but put your average tumblrinx in an old school indian household and they would have a PROBLEM. i feel like a republican but god
