With all this Disney at Last hangover and all the news of the new series and “is everyone gonna be married” and what not, it’s something I’ve been thinking about. Because when you really think about it, I think it’s safe to say that Wilby is the couple most deeply in love out of the three.

Ridley writes next to nothing about Wilby, we know that. And sometimes what we do get…tiny little moments that on the surface seem like nothing. But when you think about it a lot, Willa and Philby have been in love the longest and are honestly the ones I would most expect to be getting married if I knew them in real life.

Now obviously there’s the buffer of Fimanda here. They’re the “main” romance(I don’t consider any character or romance main in this series, but they have the most written about them). They have these huge epic moments and speaking now at the age of 18 like they are definitely soulmates, and Amanda 5 seconds away from launching herself on Finn’s funeral pyre(I don’t know why I’m being salty I love them a lot). So yeah, it would be quick to say that Fimanda is most in love, and that that’s why they’re the only ones confirmed married in the new series. But hear me out.

Look at Wilby. First of all, they were the first ones to express that they were in love with each other. We only ever see it written from Willa’s side of the equation, but it’s assumed to be mutual. But I’m not just talking about that moment in The Insider(which don’t get me wrong, still KILLS me every time). There’s a moment in book 5, before they’re even dating, when Willa says, out loud, “that’s what I love about you.” and Philby considers kissing her right then.

Now, obviously I may be biased, but I just get this vibe when I think about Wilby  and their moments of this deep connection that goes beyond the other couples. It’s like they have these much bigger moments that are not written about that you can understand have been happening when they have their small moments. On first impression this wouldn’t seem right. There hasn’t even been a kiss written. But let’s think about this.

Whenever there’s a discussion of the possibility of losing each other, or their shared love and familial feelings for each other, it’s always Wilby that we see holding hands. When Philby and Maybeck needed to be woken up with true love’s kiss, it was Willa that first suggested it, that kept insisting on it even when everyone doubted her. While they don’t have many  big moments, they’re kind of always flirting.

It’s also worth mentioning that their big moments are some of the most beautiful in the series. Not that in terms of relationship that they’re more significant than say, Amanda saving Finn’s life all the time. But these moments that we see from Willa and Philby are indicative of such a incredibly deep connection. It’s there from early on in the books but lets talk later on: thoughts of Willa getting Philby to all clear and safety, Willa saying “I love you” giving Philby the strength to keep fighting when he was near death, Philby holding Willa in his arms and comforting her when she had PTSD in Toontown, Willa expressing how she was afraid of going to college and being apart from Philby, “I’ll never doubt you again.”, Willa clutching Philby’s hand tightly and saying that they could stay in 1955.

On further consideration, it doesn’t bother me that much anymore that we’ve never had a written kiss for Wilby. I’m starting to think that it’s just who they are. They’re shy people, usually focused on solving puzzles, I don’t think they’d like public displays of affection all that much. It’s even said in Disney At Last, when Philby kisses Willa on the cheek, normally she’d be mad about it. Maybe they don’t even kiss that much when they’re on their own.

But although they don’t kiss much, their writing is chock full of expressing their love for each other, fighting for each other, connecting to each other more strongly than they do to any other keepers, holding each other in their arms, little cheek kisses and hand holds, always being desperate to stay together.

•willa regularly steals clothes from all the boys as well as her older brothers to use as sleepwear. if she’s not supposed to be crossing over she’s always sleeping in a shirt that’s way too big on her. philby finds it adorable

•any time finn posts a picture on instagram of amanda (which is way too often) he tags her over his heart. he does this for years before she ever notices

•jess convinces willa to let her straighten her hair and everyone’s surprised to learn that her hair, just below her shoulders when curly, is actually really long when straight

•except for maybeck, who’s in the same boat when it comes to shrinkage

•charlene likes to make day in my life videos and finn and maybeck have both made it their mission to be idiots in the background without getting caught

•jess and amanda are often in their videos but none of their fans know who they are apart from two random girls that are just always with the keepers

•maybeck posts tiktoks of his pottery that has earned him quite a few followers they find them relaxing

•when charlene and willa live in california together they constantly make tiktok trend videos together that normally end in them laughing themselves silly

•finn has no clue how any social media works. he has a bunch of fan pages dedicated to him but he doesn’t understand why

•his actual accounts are just pictures of his friends and almost never of himself. the fan girls despise this

•willa either post videos of her playing piano and singing or her shooting an arrow perfectly into a bullseye blindfolded there’s no inbetween

•jess just post super artsy aesthetic pictures with like ~2012 tumblr captions and memes to instagram.

•she’s got the most followers out of all of them

However I think it's absolutely hilarious if they come out with a new game where they just sorta don't ever substantially say it but it's obvious what's going on.

Ways they could make Narumitsu Canon that I think are funny:

-One of the locations is called "My Apartment" whilst you're playing as Phoenix, and when you go there sometimes Edgeworth is just like... sat on the sofa drinking tea and you're just meant to accept it. (alternatively. You are able to play as both Phoenix and Edgeworth at some point and both of them go to the same "my apartment")

- They put wedding rings on their sprites and never ever elaborate on it.

-There's an almost hidden piece of dialogue that you only get when you fail spectacularly where Edgeworth gets smug and Phoenix thinks "That's it. I am so going to divorce him when we get home" or something sarcastic along those lines. That's the only time it's mentioned.

-There's a case where there are two people in love and Maya is like "Nick you must be so lonely you haven't dated anyone in years. All you do is hang out with Mr Edgeworth all the time >:( " and Phoenix just thinks "Yeah. There's a reason for that" and that's it. You're meant to infer wtf that means.

-Larry complains about being a third wheel once when with Phoenix and Edgeworth.

-Edgeworth's office has a tiny nearly illegible photo that is clearly just a wedding picture of the two of them. You click on it and Phoenix is like "As nice as this day was, did he really have to use the photo where I'm blinking??"

I am fully aware that size and price will make this not an option for many, but if you can I highly recommend it or something similar!

(I didn’t even get this as a medical chair, I just wanted the aesthetic ✨)

It’s in B&Q’s outdoor seating section because it is garden chair.

Let’s discuss; look at all that snuggle space! It’s got a really wide, mostly-circular seat. That black cushion it comes with is well padded, but it can be a bit protruding and takes up a lot of space, though if you do lie back it becomes a lovely back and neck support! I’m a curl-up-like-a-cat person though so it often falls on me and I have to push it back up.

You can fit lots of other cushions in there! That orange that’s poking up; this are my sleeping pillows from my bed, you definitely want two on top of one another because the slope of the sides leave a gap where the seat cushion ends. I’m thinking of getting some door draught excluders because I think they’ll be the right shape to fill the gap.

I will absolutely be getting a bunch of fairy lights to string up and around it! Try and stop me.

The really wide seat also means you’ve got plenty of space to get in and out; you can see how much space my little table is taking up in front of it, but I can still get in and out easily. Lots of space to get help from a carer!

So. Much. Grab space! This thing is sturdy. It’s got a few thick metal bars and in between is a mix of plastic fake wicker and some thinner metal bars. These thick metal ones are in a position you can grab and lift yourself, they’re excellent for when you need to pull yourself out of a curl-up.

That empty semi-circle bar is a little bit high, so you gotta do a bit of a push up before you can grab it, but then it’ll happily take your weight as you sit properly upright and I usually continue holding it while I stand up. You definitely need some arm flexibility if you use it to stand up though because it will end up behind you a bit.

Also discussing the wicker; you can squeeze a blanket between the bars and make a little den!

The side bars are also perfect for leaning up forearm crutches pretty securely so you don’t have to worry about struggling to get to your aids.

The seat cushion is T H I C K and pretty durable (again; it’s an outdoor chair). This means it’s so comfy on your bum, hips, shoulders, knees, and toes, whatever you want to put on it.

It’s the perfect height for my legs to reach the floor and I’m 5’5”. Meaning it’s nice and low enough for even small doggy companions to jump up next to you for extra snuggly snugglepod snuggles!

Finally; I do want to mention that while I absolutely recommend this chair I do not recommend B&Q.

They sent me a faulty chair in the first place that couldn’t be assembled and it took them 2 whole months and numerous phone calls/online chats (and I told them I was disabled and struggling to get around it since it was in pieces on my floor each time) to sort it out and even then the only reason they finally did something about it was because I had to get a letter about my rights from Citizens Advice and that’s when they actually got my new chair sorted!

even if you can't fall asleep, laying down with your eyes closed will still rest your body

you don't have to brush your teeth standing up

you don't have to do any chore standing up, from dishes to showering

you don't have to shower with the lights on

if you can't brush your teeth, flossing and a tongue scraper gets rid of plaque and bad breath

if you can't do that, mouthwash kills a lot of bacteria

eating "unhealthy" food is better than eating no food

you can make the same meal everyday for however long you still want it

some pills come in syrups or chewables if you can't swallow them

kids nutritional shakes can be a quick way to get fuel if you can't eat/don't have time

if walking hurts/exhausts you on a regular basis, canes and rollers are for you, no matter how young you are

The way that aa consistently portrays the influence that characters have on each other is incredible. But more than that, the way that it portrays the influence of horrible, awful characters on characters who fight to be morally good is so fucking important to me. I’ve written about this before—it’s woven throughout the games. Kristoph’s heavy influence on Phoenix during the seven year gap. Klavier slamming his fist against the wall. Franziska clutching her arm. But I think the most fundamental and impressive example is, of course, Miles.

Miles never takes off the caravat. His gestures, even if they’re toned down from Bratworth, are still very clearly derived from von Karma’s courtroom behavior. Everything he does is visibly shaped by the man who abused him and his sister, who murdered his father and framed him for murder. And it always will be. He is, as much as Franziska, von Karma’s living legacy.

And—let me say—that is fucking tragic. It’s horrifying. They shouldn’t have to go through that. But.

It is so important to me. AA shows us how these characters don’t need to shed every single resemblance in order to heal. Miles wears the caravat while he works and struggles and questions and ultimately becomes something greater and kinder than what was given to him. Von Karma’s legacy is Franziska and Miles Edgeworth—isn’t that hilarious? Isn’t that amazing? Hell, even the von Karma name quickly becomes associated with Franziska over her father, just like “Gavin” becomes Klavier instead of Kristoph. Klavier “air guitar in a courtroom” Gavin is Kristoph’s living legacy. And guess what? He’s one cool, levelheaded prosecution attorney.

this always reminds me of luke skywalker saying “I am a Jedi like my father before me” (no that didn’t rewrite my brain as a kid in a shitty family, why do you ask?). For him to say that to darth vader, after multiple people have expressed fear that he will turn to the Dark Side…it means: I have seen the legacy you want me to have. I know what you want me to become. But that’s not the lesson I’m taking from you. You were cruel. Lesson learned: be kind.
