Hi! I'm working on a character ref for artfight, and I'm trying to make a character who is a vampire. I watched the video you shared here about how to make Black characters look more gothic/corpse-like without making them paler or greyer, and it was very helpful! I added a purple hue to the blush, but I feel like it still doesn't look quite right, and I'm worried I still made him look a little too grey/ashy. My other question is about his hair- I wanted to go a little stylistic with the shine on the finger waves to add a pop of red, but I'm still unsure if they even look like proper finger waves at all, and if it's too stylized to actually read properly. I also wanted to take this chance to say thank you so much for making this page, it has been genuinely so educational and I have read through some of the lessons 3 or 4 times lol (mostly the hair related ones, it's incredible how gorgeous and artful Black hair styling is), the resources are especially helpful and have made me feel so much more confident in writing my book with a Black main character! So, thanks!

So, in terrible news, Trump's trying to pull some strings to pass this massive internet censorship bill, featuring all the kinds of internet censorship we're terrified of, including mandatory ID for accessing basically any website, specifically to crush state regulation of AI, because apparently this man will always see the moral bottom of the barrel and start digging.

So, if you live in the US and hate censorship and AI you know what to do, contact your congresspeople and tell them do not fucking dare let this through or so help us god...

One correction:

The old lady is not in her home. She is at work. She's meant to be what in Italian is called "la portinaia", aka a cross between a doorwoman and cleaner of a residential building. She's in her small "office" space, at the entrance of the building, from where she can survey the coming and goings of the inhabitants. It's a job that has mostly disappeared, but is culturally very clear to us as having the connotation of "potentially gossipy, one-million-percent judgmental woman who sees everything that goes on in the apartment complex, knows everyone and their secrets, and has Strong Opinions™️".

In this case, thankfully, the Strong Opinion™️ is that those two men are ridiculous with their teeny tiny flag for ants.
