We saw that aspect of him all the way back in the Exchange Event arc, when he tried to attack an injured Hanami. At no point did he consider the ramifications of his actions - that Jogo, Mahito and Dagon would be PISSED with him (and almost definitely kill him for it). He just saw an opportunity to torture and murder someone weaker than him, so he took it, no thoughts at all beyond that.

His guards didn’t bat an eye when he ordered them to bring the prisoner to him. Nobody batted an eye anymore. They didn’t see a useless child with brittle legs; they saw a god and a king. It made Ivar feel warm, but also strangely hollow. As if there was something missing that he could not name..

the thing is, he's both. coexisting, they're of a strange, unconventional kind of beauty, the wolf and the man. there is a wildness to both of them, and a rawness, a freak found in him and it alike.

however, the feral of the wolf is the carnal one; the desire to kill, to hunt, to hurt. the man's is his love itself, consuming him; said madness is in contradiction. the desire to gnaw on hearts, to rip apart love, will never be able to fully meet the warm, human nature, the need to protect. in essence, the man is a nurturer, and remus finds himself quite connected to said title.

in their nature, all people are ugly. they are selfish, they are angry, and that is what makes them human, really. the lack of humanity, in some cases, is what makes people humans, more often than not more so than anything else. humans are not perfect; but the ugliness and imperfections of them are what make them beautiful.

"i don't know, really," sirius' voice is low, almost a hum. "the love a human is able to offer, i think. monsters are unable of love not because they are monsters, but because they are unable of doing so; it's in their nature. humans, however, are able to love so beautifully. i think all of us are freaks, in a way, though."

"i don't think that these kinds of stuff matter when you're in love; you're so absorbed by your lover that everything else fades, and it's only you left, in your own unnatural beauty."
