I watched this analysis of a "Men who hate women" perspective of Mouthwashing and it really put into words a feeling I've had ever since I first played the game.

I understand that Anya wasn't the only one who endured Jimmy's abuse. But to me it's just not comparable. Anya is so alone in this. She is the only woman. She tried to confide in the one man who had authority to do something about the horrible abuse she went through. And he did nothing. Because he was trying to keep the peace. The peace that had already been destroyed for her. She had nobody, she was completely alone.

Men who hate women aren't just the abusers. It's the men who let the abuse happen because it's easier to keep the peace than do something about it. It's easier to pretend like it's not that big of a deal. To say something like "we can fix this" to both Anya and Jimmy as if they are going through the same amount of stress about what happened is bananas.

Anyway I recommend the video, it's really well edited and discusses the actual "Men who hate women" franchise and stuff too. It's neat!!
