Happy Pride Month everyone! Remember 4 months ago when the CEO of this platform harassed and chased a trans woman off this website just for posting her transition timeline, then chased her to other social media platforms to continue harassing her, and threatened to call the FBI if she continued disputing the multiple dubious terminations of her blogs that did not violate tumblr's terms of service in any way? And despite tumblr staff insisting that the CEO was acting against their interests, the broad transmisogyny evident in the site's culture and moderation policy has still not been adequately addressed?

Remember that staff is continuing to nuke the blogs of trans women even after all of this. Remember this post when they call this site the queerest place on the internet again this month

Folks have got to understand that they probably aren't messed up by some Secret Big Trauma that they just can't remember; but rather by a million tiny microtraumas that they do mostly remember but don't even register as traumatic because nobody actually understood that these things would cause trauma, much less stack on each other over the years.

Whether you're carrying one big rock or a big ol' bucket of sand, it's going to weigh on you just as much.

This is actually also why some psychologists call into question whether DID and other Dissociative Disorders in general should be classified differently from C-PTSD and CPTSD. A lot of symptoms between the two categories overlap, along with the fact that both almost always exist comorbidly (at the same time) in presenting patients. Theories range in cause of DID in particular being a subcategory of some kind under the umbrella of PTSD and C-PTSD Disorders- but currently most research shows that those with DID have adverse childhoods or childhood trauma. They mostly live fine until some sort of "break" or in theory a "relapse" of their childhood PTSD trauma occurs, causing the development of separate identities. Most cases that have been studied or reported of DID are women in their 30's. So yeah, having PTSD or C-PTSD or CPTSD- results in similar symptoms to Dissociative Disorders, and is apart of a debate in the Psych community to define them more distinctly from each other OR combine them in references like the DSM. Idk what being queer necessarily dictates tho- like that usually doesn't result from trauma. So idk what that guy meant
