Here are the results, its my first time redesigning characters so he ended up looking like some oc

What did I do:

1: change the placement of the scarf. Even if Duo was real, he'd need to move fast and his scarf would be a burden.

2: Make the clothing less black. Duo is portrayed as a rookie, new to the battle and still very young so by making his clothes other shades of dark colours or not a dark colour makes him look less formal and experienced.

3: make lineart less pointy. Hes supposed to be nice, let his silhouette say so.

Apart from that, I changed some of his hairstyle because im petty and i dont like it lol

Since I selship with this guy (Mimic) I've been trying to understand more about him.

And i found these pages where he recognizes that war did break a lot in his mental health and that his first thought about joining groups was to belong. Only after, it twisted to people becoming means to an end. Also, he says that everyone wears a facade (which isnt correct, Whisper may have her problems but she surely wasnt faking with her friends) and only he is brave enough to embrace it.

This leaves me thinking that Mimic has disociated himself not only of his identity but other people's language that he claims to know how to read.

And him knowing that it starts with the war implies that he knows that theres something wrong with him. He expresses that it made him ruthless and feel like undeserving of company

I think he's gone like, totally insane. You can see that whatever reality mimic thinks he lives isnt correct. From the war having already ended but him behaving like it hasnt (despite showing signs that he knows), harassing and obsessing over Whisper even when she has already left him behind, even when Eggman no longer cares if mimic is or not in his data system. Mimic lives inside his head, repeating and distorting whatever he thinks he knows as identity of himself, others and the world situation. Yes, hes functional, but he clearly isnt... totally there.

He knows theres something odd going on in his head but he fails to grab on what exactly and acts on what he believes is going on.

This reference was funny in my head but anyway I'll explain a bit about my ocs, like, the worldbuilding (???)

This all stars at the year 1000 after Christ, where a lady unfortunately loses her husband and most neighbours at a fire that ended almost all her village. So, now a widow and without help, she and her daughter start living in a convent that is luckily ran by a nice man that just lets everyone be as long as they dont commit sin or try to defend it.

She and this man become close friends and start sharing some of their hobbies, being one of these (from the man) to research things that dont quite fit in their world. He thinks its all evidence of god still being around them.

She thinks there has to be something else, since most of these artifacts dont belong in their belief and she kinda recognizes a few

Eventually a friend of the dead husband comes in (late, because he didnt know about the incident until he went to visit his friend and found a burnt village) and confirms that whatever they have is not from any belief he knows. But it resembles something the dead husband was fixated on before dying.

Fastforward, they diacover god is indeed real , but it doesn't belong in any religion, its a creature of its own. It could just delete them since they now know it exists but that doesn't fit it's vision, so it does something different to them... specially her.

So, to this point there are two types of entities

Everything on Earth

God itself.

From that moment, another type of entity is created, something that could be called an angel.

This god doesn't have control over the body of anything on earth , but it can control their souls and place them in bodies it controls.

These angels usually resemble insects or reptiles of some sort, the proccess to create them is long and a torture both for the person that is being turned into an angel and god. These creatures stop knowing about time and follow their most primal values and morals, making them not follow only one truth or ethic, still, they can be rebooted by god if they stray too far.

God mostly uses these angels to avoid catastrofic events from happening, so in this world a few things are different.

America was not conquered, at least not in the same violent way it was in real life, for an example.

Angels can mix and breed with humans, this is a feature god made with the intention of eventually being able to control humans and change them to its ideal of a perfect civilization.

However, this scheme is interrupted sooner than later. The Vatican discovers these angels and has a vague idea of their leader. They could start hunting them but instead they choose for something more useful.

Is angels follow their values and morals, they can raise them to follow THEIR values and morals.
