It’s that simple but what this fetishiser actually wants is Jensen to be punished (because he didn’t give them their fanon ship in canon) and forced to say there is only ONE true interpretation - and that is Dean is gay (only for the angel of course).

I’d say this stopped being about representation a long time ago but it was never about that, it’s about doubling down on their fanfic so they can “lord” it over the “antis” and win a fandom war.

The love confession wasn't reciprocated by Dean, per the script, Jensen, writers, even Misha has admitted that. There can't be a relationship when only one side feels that way.

Destiel can't be canon because Dean isn't in love with Cas. No matter what people have said in fanfic, no matter how much explicit fan art they create, the canon is that Dean is a straight man who hunts monsters, not marries them. The debate over if Castiel can even feel or understand love is a whole other question, but Dean's position already rules it.

Dean saw Cas as a brother in arms, someone he fought battles with, not a lover. He states multiple times that he is straight and he only ever shows interest in women. He's also only into humans. Human women. Castiel as we knew him in Jimmy's body isn't a woman, and even if he wasn't in a male vessel he's still not a human. Cas could be wearing the bustiest Asian beauty Dean's ever seen, but that won't make him Dean's type.

The evidence that is used to say it's canon is based on things like coloured lights or what Dean's eating. Most of it the evidence is made from compilations of clips or gifs by people who aren't able to have real discussions about the show because they haven't actually watched it. These gifs of "loving looks" are often poorly chosen, since they accidentally include times that Dean was looking at Sam. See what I mean about them not having watched the show?

There are people who have been told to skip the first three seasons because it's only worth watching Supernatural for Destiel. Even Misha has told people to do this, but he also makes money from shippers which is why he panders so much. The show was about two brothers, and the main draw is always going to be the two brothers. Destiel gives him an in, a way to get attention on himself.

So, no. Destiel isn't canon.

If you claim to love one and hate the other, you're missing most of what makes them, them. You can't separate one brother from the other and act like that doesn't remove a huge part of the one that's left. Monsters kept trying to do that for 15 years and it never went well.

I'll never understand what kind of sadist spends 300 hours watching a character they hate. And the only other possibility is that they haven't watched those 300 hours, which means they haven't watched the show that they claim to be a fan of and try to intrude in the fandom space of.

They don’t like Supernatural. They don’t like the genre. They’re not interested in the lore. They don’t care about Sam and Dean. They don’t care about their relationship with each other. They don’t care about the themes the show explores and it doesn’t seem they even bothered to watch the show given their F+ recitation of canon.

Now they’re just coming unglued because as time goes on, nothing is ever gonna satisfy them and the actors aren’t going to magically cater to their stupid ship that nobody takes seriously. They’re just harassing actors, harassing fans, trying to dictate what everyone is allowed to think and say with no respect to what Supernatural was even about. Some of them have made a sole hobby out of demonizing one of the actors all day long for doing nothing. That’s their fandom connection. Being a hater.
