They want those pairings and they want it to canon. Why should it be endgame. Why can't they ship and leave it at that? They become less codependent than season1 and everybody was happy. Sam was literally developing his relationship with eileen, whole season15 and then the finale came and ruined it all. The way they pretend they care about sam and its him who got the bad ending with a blurry wife and a son whose only importance

But reality is that dean and sam were less codependent on season1 than they were by season15. they may have found family but it was always optional. Yes they cared for more people other than their dad but Dean become psychotically obsessive over keeping sam alive and with him even at the cost of these found family members and even blood family including their mom and brother. Eileen was a forced relationship and cas was never gonna be at the end. These hellers copiums are hilarious.
