I think Danneel is sending a lot of mixed messages. Her main types are The Bitch/Other Woman but she is confusing her buyers. She could land many parts as the antagonist but instead she chooses to pretend to be something she is not. It is precisely that lack of authenticity that determines people to avoid casting her. It’s very important to be on brand within the industry, to know your strengths and play them. I almost get the sense that Danneel is trying to fit into this image that is much bigger than her and that she will never be a match to. It will always be endlessly amusing to me that she calls herself an “activist”. That is a title that is earned by people based on their values, beliefs and, most of all, actions whereas all Danneel does is copy other people’s thoughts and we can see it today more than ever, her activism is performative, you can’t just turn off being an activist. Danneel is only an “activist” when it suits her, when she stands to benefit off of it. Oh, there’s a good part to cast her in: the woman who pretends to be an activist but is really vile inside, like her Sister Jo act, where she was an “angel of the Lord” but in reality she was an opportunistic, superficial, self-centered woman. Writers knew what they were doing when they wrote that part especially for her. People get cast according to their main essence (minus a few exceptions - the actors who can pull off multiple roles - think Meryl Streep) so it’s senseless for Danneel to keep trying to feed a narrative online that goes against the main types people call her in for. That’s just my humble opinion. She can keep trying to push the “activist” angle, of course, it’s just that people won’t line up to cast her.
