on my second viewing of obsession, i had the realization that nikki’s story at the party wasn’t the movie using incest as an easy shorthand for making the audience uncomfortable or creating a general “things are off” vibe but was another way the real nikki was crying out—a metaphor for the fact that nikki, like gretel, is being made to fuck her “little brother” (bear) under duress, at the behest of an external magic (the witch’s spell in her story; obviously, bear’s wish)
Just saw the interview where Curry Barker explained that it's totally possible to get a normal wish from the One Wish Willow, and I love the way they did that so much. The reason Obsession happened isn't because it's trying to twist Bear's desires into something evil. It's not even because he phrased his want wrong. Obsession happened because Bear got his hands on a magic item that could do anything in existence, and chose to force someone to fall in love with him, which is an inherently evil thing to do.
not me
so i just saw obsession

I don’t know how many people have read the early scripts for Twilight, but they got a guy named Mark V. Lord to write one draft, and I can only assume he took one look at this sparking vampire bullshit and decided “fuck it, I’m making a Blade movie.”
I know no one cares, but they dropped a ton of useless characters, so the vampires are just Edward, Esme, Laurent, and Carlisle. Laurent goes rogue because the Thirst always wins, and the bodies start hitting the floor. Bella’s mom? Dies of cancer in the first five. And she’s one of the lucky ones. Bella’s BFF? Outie.
THEN she becomes a vampire monster.
Plus badass shit like Grand Theft Auto.
Bella ain’t so awkward when she’s rocking a shotty.
Carlisle gets rocked.
Mustache Dad? Taken hostage and then fucking rocked.
Bella turns into fucking Sarah Connor and wrecks shit.
Edward nearly gets his shit pushed in before Bella takes Laurent out with a fucking bear trap.
Five fucking movies before Bella becomes a vampire? Fuck it, she gets vamped at the end of the first damn movie.
Where would this fuck’n awesomeness go from there? Vampire T-rexes? Frankenstein pirates? A Chow Yun-Fat werewolf duel-wielding Berettas? All I know is that here on Earth Bullshit, we got stiffed with vampire movies where the only thing getting bitten was Kristen Stewart’s lip.
Makes you very grateful for the Twilight film that we got. The win is with almost all the Cullen’s cut from the story only Esme and Carlisle make it into the film with Edward; the bad news is that Carlisle doesn’t survive and neither does Charlie. The gun battles, the bear trap, Laurent as the villain, and Bella becomes a vampire at the end also make for a screenplay for a film we are glad was never produced called “Twilight.”
Did they task the vampires with hanging up the flags 😭
The Drama (Kristoffer Borgli, 2026)
Thank you. I hope everybody thinks this
i saw the drama last night and i think one of my favorite things about it is that everyone looked so real and so human. everyone had imperfect teeth and they all looked like people i’d see in my day to day life! i loved it!

ZENDAYA & ROBERT PATTINSON photographed for "The Drama" (2026)
Slight spoilers but Emma having spent her entire childhood moving around never staying long enough to make friends or get closure from the bullying and her adult coping mechanism being "let's start over" was chef's kiss
The thing about the Drama that I have a hard time coming to terms with is the reason why Emma didn't go and commit the shooting. Everyone goes with the most uncharitable interpretation of those events; as if she didn't do it because she would no longer be "the first" one to do it in her town.
The movie shows how the shooting impacted the students at Emma's school, and Emma had to sit and take in all the reactions of those around her. The pain it caused others, how shameful it is to do such a thing, the weight of real life taken. Her not going through with it read to me less as a disappointment, and more as a wake-up call.
Before the shooting happened, her view of such events was glamorized play pretend. She was trying to make a "cool" sounding manifesto putting on silly makeup and clothes. After it happened, she was face-to-face with the real consequences that would have on the people around her, and she chose not to go through with her plan.
Charlie's interpretation of this event was the MOST uncharitable possible interpretation of how things went down and idk why his viewpoint is the one taken in this scenario.
My favorite thing about The Drama is Rachel's character because she reminds me of the kind of young person online who thinks the mere act of performing disgust or outrage at the morally wrong actions of someone else is somehow politically productive at all, or that it makes them a "good person."
Whenever I see someone disregard or disparage ideas of rehabilitation for people who have done (or in this movie's case, almost did) unforgivable things, I want to grab them and ask "what should be done, then?" Because, people like that do exist, in spades, and short of executing or imprisoning or Black Mirror White Bearing every person who's done or thought of doing something immoral, rehabilitation is probably the best bet for minimizing harm, right? (And if your answer to immorality IS execution or isolation... i do not think youre really the more moral one here...) But even taking out any potential empathy for the humans who do or think of doing immoral acts, sometimes, giving them the tools to lead a happy and fulfilling life are the exact thing that leads them AWAY from the potential acts of like, shooting up a school, regardless of how undeserving you think they are of that.
Its especially interesting because, in the movie, Emma had arguably done way more activism against gun violence than Rachel ever did, despite her cousin, but this means nothing. Emma's primary motivation for her planned shooting was bullying and the isolation she felt (and TCC tumblr), but it was when she found friends and real community and something else to invest her energy into, she was able to pull herself out of those dark thoughts and, like, rejoin society. And what does Rachel do when she finds out? Spreads rumors, and tries to isolate her. And, I say this not to victim blame, but to acknowledge that no one makes those big decisions in a vacuum and that understanding these things better is a NECESSITY for preventing them, which should be the fucking goal; that is exactly the kind of behavior that made her want to do that when she was 15.
The rest of the space is going to be pretty pissed when they see this.
did you google how to take a screen shot

how are you gonna be 31 and posting fandom content bro leave it to the teenagers
People 10 and 20 years older than me are writing your favorite fanfics, and drawing your favorite characters. You'd have no fandom without the people you think are 'too old' to have hobbies.
This mentality is so insanely frustrating. Why do teenagers think that people have to give up their hobbies, give up fun, when they reach a certain age? Like??
When I was a teenager writing fic, I remember finding out that one of my favorite authors was in her 50s and that just was SUCH a revelation for me!! What do you mean, 50 year olds can write fanfic?!? Does that mean I can write fics when I'm her age?? That's AWESOME! I seriously looked up to her so much. And now I'm 35 with a husband and kid, and I'm still writing fanfic and posting fandom content - and I have no plans of stopping!
If you try to drive 30+ people out of fandom, you're going to lose the backbone of said fandom!
The ageism in fandom is fucking insane. It’s strange that people seem to have the idea that fandom was created by and for teenagers… It was not. It was created by adults. How would we have ao3 if only teenagers were in fandom?
I don’t want to sound like I am hating on younger people in fandom, but god, y’all need to stop it with the ageism. You don’t have to give up what you love once you’re an adult. Honestly, the belief that you have to is pretty bad. It sounds like it would make people afraid of aging. Granted, modern society is so very afraid of aging.
Don’t give up what you love just because you’re an adult. You don’t have to. And don’t try to force others to do it either.
