“ We’re outnumbered. And surrounded. ”

“ That’s bad, no? ”

“ Have you ever heard of a warning? ”

“ Does it hurt? ”

“ That’s our whole plan. It’s not very good, is it? ”

“ Wardens don’t save everyone. ”

“ I don’t want you to die. ”

“ I should have died. ”

“ That doesn’t sound simple to me. ”

“ Still silent as the grave. That hasn’t changed. ”

“ I speak when it’s necessary. ”

“ I have no interest in trading petty barbs with you. ”

“ Would you like to come to a party? ”

“ I told you, I don’t like parties, and I’m not here for fun. ”

“ At least try to look like you belong here. ”

“ Forgive me if I cannot manage to harbor any kindness for him. ”

“ Are you all right, mage? ”

“ You don’t think I’ll help? ”

“ It’s not against the law to be a cultist. ”

“ It’s very polite, but you don’t need to walk me out every time. ”

“ Someone’s put a contract on your head. ”

“ You’re not wearing that, are you? ”

“ I wouldn’t complain, if you filled me in. ”

“ Oh, good. More stairs. ”

“ You’re not the least bit curious? ”

“ To be fair, you never told me the plan. ”

“ Never known you to have a soft heart. ”

“ That cavalier attitude’s going to get you killed. ”

“ He doesn’t deserve a quick death. ”

“ I thought the plan was to have a few laughs, slit some throats— ”

“ Is this your handiwork? ”

“ You upset my delicate sensibilities. ”

“ Morality is not static. Right and wrong are a matter of perspective. ”

“ You don’t get to do that—you don’t get to quit. ”

“ Andraste’s holy cabbage, you look like shit. ”

“ I did my good deed for the year. ”

“ Well, that does free me from promises I didn’t intend to keep. ”

“ Do you need a healer? ”

“ Old man, will you let me work? ”

“ You’re asking me to go where? ”

“ There’s nothing for miles. ”

“ I didn’t find it as impressive as you did. ”

“ If I were forced to choose between eating that rat over there and being considerate of _____’s feelings, I would eat the rat. ”

Neve is your resident cynic detective, sure, but she is not just that: there is hope at her core. I think the way she sees Dock Town, knows that Minrathous is vile and corrupt but doesn't think everyone should give up on it regardless, enables her to see the capability for redemption where other people would likely walk away. she is the one to support Varric in trying to talk Solas down, after all (with another approval pop-up) - and that's after he attacks the city that's dear to her more than anything else in the world. that says a lot, I think.

she is The Nuance Guy, too - no, Mythal joining the Evanuris was not so simple. no, we cannot be (I will not be) the judge, jury and the executioner for the mayor of D'Meta's Crossing, no matter what he's done. it's just not the type of justice she envisions. whether you think the two-side-ism is wrong or right, it's something she chooses to consider.

for Bellara, though, I think people often mistake her bubbliness and kindness towards those she loves - or those who don't get in her way, at least - for kindness that's overall unconditional. it's not the case. out of these two, she is the much more drastic one, and doesn't mince her words. the kind of person to see her dear brother come back from the dead, and wish that he had stayed dead rather than come back like this, on the side of an enemy. Mythal's attempts at peace-keeping are of smaller note than the fact she sided with the Evanuris, monsters already by then. the mayor of D'Meta Crossing should die because he hurt the people she knew personally, and she won't be there for his redemption arc, either.

if you piss off or disappoint her, all bets are off. she knows who she is, and probably has had to live through too many attempts by other people to change just that, that she learnt to hold on to it with both her hands.

the First Warden was an obstacle in their way, a grave danger for them all. the First Warden was not without a chance for redemption, if he were given one.

All companions that died in the final mission (specifically Minrathous, not Tearstone Island) get a small mention with one line playing during the animated epilogue slides.
