I think it’s time we start to have a serious discussion about how young lesbians, both masculine and feminine are falling down the TERF pipeline. The nuances of gender and gender expression are so complex that we’ll be discussing them 100 years from now and probably longer than that. What I need my fellow lesbians to understand is, TRANS WOMEN ARE NOT YOUR ENEMY! Non-binary and trans folx have been the trailblazers within our community and set the path for us to dress how we want unapologetically and it’s extremely ignorant to deny this fact and reduce trans women to “men in dresses invading lesbian and sapphic spaces” first off, we all know that men don’t need any special frills to invade lesbian spaces, they do it anyway via coercion, corrective rape, verbal harassment, and the physical assault of both femmes and mascs/studs as civilians and law enforcement/military. To say that trans women are “invaders” in our community, when they face the same levels of hatred, violence, and oppression from cishet men because of their presentation is so fucking problematic, transphobic, and a slap in the face to the queer and trans ancestors that fought for our rights to even have an opinion in social and political spaces. Let me reiterate, TERFS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THIS SPACE!!!! And if you claim to love trans women then you don’t allow them in your spaces either. Stop engaging with content via this app or any other app that you feel has even the sneakiest tinge of transphobia attached to it. This is the time to re-unify the community and protect our spaces from the bigotry and political violence of heteronormative conservative politicians.
