Something that annoys me is the constant whining about "more queer spaces, more queer communities" but then they're immediately like "yeah! And we need ones that don't cost money or require a purchase!"
Girl that's exactly why they close down after a year. You NEED money to keep these places open. There's no magic Gay Money Pot with endless cash to keep these places open. It requires YOU to put your money where your values are!!
Like there was a queer coffee shop in my city. Owned and operated by a bunch of LGBT people. Not a cishet on the schedule. Tons of young people raved about it.
And it made it about 2 years before shutting down completely. Because all those young people who begged for a place exactly like this would just show up, not buy a single thing, and leave. You cannot build a community without putting your money into it. This isn't about capitalism, this is just reality. You can't open a restaurant where no one buys your food. You can't have a gay bar that only serves 5% of the population and actively excludes everyone else. This is what I mean when I say people confuse "community" and "friend group." You're not obligated to spend money when hanging out with your friend group. But if you want a lasting community centered space, you need to open up that wallet.
just remembered shows used to have 20-25 eps per season
Being asexual and racist is embarassing as fuck. Being racist at all is obviously embarassing as fuck but the amount of racism and especially antiblackness i have been seeing from asexuals recently is obscene.
One of the only asexual activists is Yasmin Benoit, a Black woman. She has raised so much awareness for the community. She was the first asexual person to lead Pride in London, she started the #thisiswhatasexuallookslike movement and is THE leading voice for the community.
And you all will celebrate international asexuality day on April 6th but we wouldn't even have that if she hadn't cofounded it.
Edit: why are you all too scared to repost this. Cmon. Be vocal about being against racism

“Rappers only talk about their money, cars, and clothes!”
Why might someone from a group of people that historically have been denied access to wealth, now brag that they have it?
“Rappers only talk about sex!”
Why might someone from a group that have historically been denied sexual autonomy now brag about their sexual escapades on their own terms?
“Rappers only talk about drugs and crime!”
Why might someone from a group that historically have been denied the more legal means to acquire wealth and had drugs forced on their community talk about their experiences with it?
materialism, rape and violence are okay if you were oppressed once upon a time, I guess
I know your harry potter books might not have taught you this, but your accusation of rappers being rapists is not a new threat. It’s been force fed into your head by centuries of racism to pose Black people as hypersexual beings to justify both the lynching of us and sexual assault of our men, women, and children to this very day. If you could stomach any text beyond a children’s fantasy book from the 90’s, you might have gained the ability to see how your line of thinking is just the result of you not challenging yourself to question things you’ve heard about a demographic that you admit have been oppressed “once upon a time.” Your snide, and blatantly false remark aside, you thinking that Black people are somehow no longer oppressed while casually condemning one of the most popular art forms that we made as a glorification of rape is quite simply discrimination: a tool of oppression.
Now, I know it’s not a story about a world of magic that has elves who want to be slaves for some reason so it might be difficult for you to grasp; but if you actually read the post, or just engaged with any art that’s personal on any level, you would see that talking about your experiences in this world is primarily what has made art throughout history. There has always been art about materialism, sex, and violence throughout human history, throughout every culture on the planet. So you laying what you clearly think to be uncultured things solely at the feet of rap music, displays both your vast ignorance of the world around you and your desire to continue the oppression of my people.
Sorry I Spent all mY spoons this week already and it's fucking Tuesday. We're heading to the knives
“Do it scared” “do it alone” are all great tips, but my biggest takeaway from therapy is do it messy. This is especially true if you’re getting out of a burnout, which I experience often. Literally just do it messy. You don’t need to pick the perfect trail to walk, the perfect playlist to listen to, whatever the fuck it is. You don’t need to have a meticulous to do list and wake up at the exact time you planned and drink the exact amount of water you planned to drink. Like the biggest thing for people like me to remember is sometimes it’s okay to do it messy. Put on a random yt workout and just get it done in sweats. Do 5 minutes of a daunting task and go from there. Sometimes just getting up is a win during intense burnouts or depressive funks. Literally just do it messy.
the issue with growing up in the 2000s and 2010s was like there was this really big push toward "accepting your weirdness" overall but they meant like idk wearing mismatched socks or something not being tangibly beyond the norm in any way shape or form
a book should be $5 a little drink should be $2 and museum access should be free and all hours

bringing a sort of "slavery is still alive and well in US prisons" vibe to the office Juneteenth post that my higher ups don't really like
From what I understand slavery was never actually abolished in the us. It is still legal and all.
the amendment that "ended" slavery specifically left permission for slave labor as punishment for convinced criminals and our inmates have been legally exploited ever since, yes
not a bummer, say it louder
"I asked chatgpt-"
Well I asked the host of the community radio station of a small desert town and he said "Don't let numbers tell you what to do. You are blood and earth, not theory and chalk", so maybe think about that.
fucked that you can’t fix other people especially when you really care about them. Oh so im just supposed to be there for you while you suffer. like a useless cunt gargoyle

I think making character playlists is good for you and connected to analysis skills in a very fun way and low investment way. I know its seen as quite trivial but to me it operates the same way looking at a lot of art builds ur skills passively. Yummy enrichment activity
they injected me with mental illness when i was a baby because they didn't like that i radiated moonlight and had stars inside my eyes. they were jealous of me.
