I think it's cute how so many art movements are simply called "new art" to differentiate "not like the old stuff". Contemporary dance. New wave fashion. Pop (literally popular) music. Art Nouveau. Modernism. Postmodernism. Even terms starting with neo- (neo-classicism, neo-expressionism) all are just saying NEW ART. And yet all of these things are now distinctive styles of the past. It's kind of beautiful how humanity never stops outgrowing itself. Art is a state of matter that refuses to sit still, old as soon as it is new, original upon its thousandth performance, new forever so long as there is someone who has not yet seen it, and old the second the artist picks up their instrument again.

font reviews based on how good :3 looks
Arial: Classic font, looks good for the most part, but a little bit bland also. 6/10
Berlin Sans FB: There's already a lot more character, but the mouth is simply too long and the lips don't curl enough which takes away from the experience. 4/10
Comic Sans MS: Now THAT'S a colon-three. There's so much silliness in that face it's hard to bear. My only real critique is that the eyes are just a smidge too narrow, but that's just a nitpick more than anything. 8/10
Courier New: Sleek. Professional. Big vertical eyes full of glee. Very solid choice for a colon-three font. 7/10
Jokerman: I feel bad for including this one. That font stood no chance against the others. This is the eldritch horror of colon-threes. These eyes are filled with nothing except murderous intent. The mouth is crooked with a sharp corner, but the most egregious part is probably the teeth-like protrustions from the bottom part of the mouth. 0/10
Goudy Stout: An interesting take on colon-three. I like the idea of having an incredibly thick mouth (even if it's a bit too thick for my liking), and the eyes being big and centered is a big positive. Much sillier than most fonts, but I think struggles to beat Comic Sans in terms of silliness. 6/10
Consolas: Worse version of Courier New. The lips just don't curl enough and it just ends up looking a little pathetic. 4/10
Fixedsys: Oh my god. Holy shit. What the fuck. 10/10
Liberation Serif: the flat ends on the three gives it its own character. sadly i think the 90 degree ish corners kinda ruin the idea 4/10
Scientifica: a flat topped three that doesn't stand a chance compared to Fixedsys 3/10
FiraCode Light: a much better version of Consolas that has way better curls on the three. this font is oddly unique in the fact its colon is almost perfectly inline with the 3. this is sadly let down by the extremely thick dots of the colon. 8/10
Dots N Crosses Pxl: a font i myself made because i was bored a while back, for some reason this combo appears to have awful kerning, this leads to the three looking much larger than it actually is. for a colon three i don't think it does too bad on the three-front, although it could do with the three being more curly.

Yesterday my little brother told me something very sweet and touching, that when he was a kid and had nightmares about monsters chasing him or whatever he would be able to end the nightmare by finding me in the dream and I would protect him by fighting off the zombies, or carrying him away. This is adorable, and makes me feel like the greatest older sibling in the world, but the hilarious thing is that when I was a kid I had nightmares of needing to save him from zombies and such. so many dreams where he was in trouble and I needed to save him. Like my nightmares began where his ended. Low key I think he mastered the ability to psychically transfer his nightmare to me as a child and I'm kind of annoyed with him.
I ate a bunch of junk food and now I feel sick. Could a doctor tell me precisely where It all went wrong?
