you can also use this method as a lucid dreaming method, which is something I never considered before! thank you @just-another-gen-z-shifter for the idea! check out their tumblr! their pronouns are they/she, so please be respectful.
the original method ⎯ also called the double-sided staircase method
begin by visualizing yourself at the bottom of a large set of stairs. if you're using this as a lucid dream method, conjure one (I find it easier to conjure items when I'm not facing the direction that they will spawn in).
take your time walking up the stairs. put effort in trying to feel your footsteps. I prefer to not visualize where the staircase ends, so I can take as long as I need or want to.
visualize moments from your current reality. good and bad. think of it like a montage of the highlights and lowlights of your life here. continue to slowly walk up the staircase.
at the top of the staircase, you find a mirror. your reflection is of your original reality self. take a moment to take yourself in, and acknowledge that this is going to be the last time that you see this version of yourself for a while.
turn away from a mirror and notice a door. when you touch the doorknob, feel (or affirm that you feel) a rush of energy flow through you.
when you open the door, visualize a staircase leading down to another door. begin to slowly walk down the stairs. feel your energy raise – if you don't feel a physical energy, that's okay! keep thinking positively, visualize some scenarios that you're excited for, think of the mundane moments in your dr that will make you happy. no matter what, take your time and be patient with this step.
open the door at the bottom of the staircase. visualize your comfort character from your desired reality waiting for you. they hold out their hand to you and ask, "are you ready to go?" take a moment to ponder over this. are you ready to shift?
take their hand and walk down a long corridor. visualize yourself having a conversation with your cc.
at the end of the corridor, you find yet another door. acknowledge that once you walk through that door, you will transform into your desired reality self.
there's a bit of a divide in the next step, so you can stop here if you feel ready to shift, or if you feel that you need more time, follow the steps below.
if you feel like you need more time to shift ⎯
on the other side of the door, you find your desired reality friends and family waiting for you. spend some time speaking to them, enjoying their presence.
when you feel ready, open another door that leads to your dr bedroom. deeply visualize your bedroom as you walk through.
lay down in your dr bed in the same position that you were laying in your original reality. fall asleep. you will wake up in your desired reality.
follow steps 1-2 from the original method.
as you slowly walk up the steps, use shifting affirmations. once you feel reasonably disconnected from your body, begin to use identity affirmations.
at the top of the staircase, you find a mirror. when you look into it, you will notice your desired reality self looking back at you. visualize yourself slowly turning into your desired reality self until your physical body matches the one in the mirror. for more in-depth instructions, click here.
visualize your comfort character coming up to you and saying hello. take their hand and follow them to a door.
use your senses – feel yourself walking, feel the doorknob, twist it, and push the door open. on the other side, you will find either your dr bedroom or your wakeup scene – shifter's choice!
say goodnight to your comfort character, give them a hug, say you'll see them in the morning. really feel that you will see them soon.
walk around the room, explore the environment. use your senses.
when you feel ready, lay down on your dr bed. use affirmations or focus on your breathing to ease yourself to sleep.
