as they are both teachers, they get the summer off and spend the whole season at their cottage on the shore

they make money by selling fruit and vegetables from their garden, remus fixes up boats in the community and sirius sells his pottery at the farmers market

remus often naps on the couch they keep in sirius’ pottery studio, sirius will sit and read on the deck while remus fixes up boats in the neighborhood (they just love to be by each other’s side)

sirius burns like you wouldn't believe, remus gets a glowing tan that lasts all summer long

remus loves to fish, and will sit for hours on the warf, just enjoying the silence. sirius does not like to fish, but loves to lay his head on remus’ lap while he waits for a bite

they have a radio in the porch set to their favourite station, and it never gets turned off, just turned down in volume if need be

remus sleeps in just his boxers, sirius sleeps in his boxers and one of remus' t-shirts (occasionally one of his plaid button ups if it's a little chillier)

they eat every meal out on the porch

they have a polaroid camera that they keep in the kitchen, sirius has a collection of pictures he's taken of remus falling asleep in various places (the hammock, sitting up against the oak tree in the front yard, in his row boat, laying on the grass)

remus will french braid sirius’ hair all the time, tightly woven so he can keep it in for days at a time

they have a picnic every sunday, they ride their bikes out to the shore with their wicker basket full of homemade snacks and sandwiches (made by sirius)
