Accusation: Heni hates neopronouns and is transphobic.

The TLDR Truth: Heni would not allow someone in the Ourcana server, which is for all ages and has minors in it, to use slut and whore pronouns (which also happens to be against Discord TOS and can get your account terminated and a whole server deleted). This system also runs the syscest-culture-is blog and seemingly allows minors to answer NSFT asks under the guise that Mod Aether is a bodily minor and with the knowledge that Mod Unity (former mod) was confirmed to be a bodily minor, which should draw criticism to SOA's partner wanting to use Whore and Slut pronouns in a family server.

I would also like to point out, I was told that the reason Tranzi, Heni's girlfriend stepped in to warn Sukuna, was because Heni was triggered and obviously not in the right headspace when this all went down, but Heni's presence was DEMANDED for the event. And she was just supposed to act like... She wasn't triggered?

But I bring this up because of the negligent behavior that Hydor has displayed, not only in getting mad that its boyfriend got banned for being inappropriate with minors, but that it also runs an NSFW blog with a supposed BODILY MINOR MOD. That mod being Mod Aether (and formerly Mod Unity).

The pinned post claims that only adult mods deal with NSFW asks, but... That's not true.

So this brings up a LOT of concern with the picture that has been painted of Heni thus far, because Hydor and Aether (and subsequently another blog where I found these screenshots) are trying to paint Heni as transphobic for not respecting someone's pronouns.

But when you look at the fact Hydor's boyfriend was trying to use Slut and Whore pronouns in a server that has MINORS in it, and then you point out that Hydor has a blog where it has underage mods dealing with NSFW asks.

I have MAJOR concerns about this. I'm aware teenagers will teenager and look at NSFW content. But being around adults that are willing to be sexual and allow sexual content in front of minors... It never ends well and almost always ends with the minor being groomed and sexually abused.

So keep this in mind when it comes to "Heni is transphobic and against neopronouns >:(" rumors being spread around.

What makes me say this? Well, this post, actually:

So Aether, and therefore Hydor, may be obfuscating their systems for some level of euphoria regarding age or even potentially for kink purposes, and I lean towards the latter considering everything I've pointed out here.

I would also like to mention I've been told that SOA and Sukuna ARE back in the Ourcana server, and were actually let back in shortly after the pronoun situation that started all of this, and yet even with being let back into the server, just like they wanted, they went to a "Shit Heni's Done" blog just to make a callout post.

I won't get into Heni's trauma, as that was already posted without her consent, PUBLICLY by SOA, but there's obviously some level of sexual trauma (considering the pronouns that triggered her), and that's extremely common with traumatized systems. This isn't some bizarre revelation about systems. I know very few traumatized systems that didn't go through sexual trauma of one flavor or another, and you can find it ALL over traumagenic system tags. There's a high likelihood that Heni wasn't the only one triggered, but since Ourcana doesn't really allow excessive communication, many people likely did not open up about being triggered by said pronouns, when they potentially were.

But again, it is also just inappropriate to expose minors and non-consenting individuals to kink or anything of a sexual nature.

And again, this comes from a system that DOES have members that use slut and whore pronouns. They just don't use those pronouns in front of people who don't consent or can't consent.

Sounds of Aquarius has been EXTREMELY negligent at best with exposing kinks to minors and non-consenting individuals (and I don't want to see you try to "Sexual exposure is WORSE than sexual pronouns because I WENT THROUGH THAT" because I went through it too, subtle manipulation is how it creeps into worse and worse territory), and downright predatory at worst.

Myth/oversimplification: Tulpamancy is, or is based on a Tibetan Buddhist closed practice, therefore tulpamancy is bad because something something cultural appropriation.

Fact: Tulpamancy, or at least the word tulpa, is very loosely inspired by a single chapter in a 1929 book on mysticism in Tibet written by a French Theosophist named Alexandra David Neel, who visited in the 1920s and wrote about a time she supposedly learned about tulpas and even took a crack at creating one (and spending 6 months destroying it after it supposedly became too powerful and turned malicious, hence the tulpa stereotype of the 'imaginary friend turned evil!').

However, there are no contemporary sources, nor sources written by any actual Tibetans or Buddhists (and it's not just a matter of their practices not being written down, you CAN find many texts on esoteric practices of Tibetan Buddhism if you bother to look) to suggest it was an actual practice in those days. David-Neel is generally well-regarded among Buddhists of today for her early look into Tibetan culture, but in the end she is still an outsider looking in.

Most agree that the term as David Neel used it, was most likely a misunderstanding of the term SprulPa, which refers to the earthly bodies that Buddhas manifest as to teach those who have not achieved Nirvana. There might also be a bit of the word Tulku, which refers to individuals who are recognised as the reincarnation of a past teacher, Bodhisattva or other enlightened being (like the Dalai Lama). And yes, there are some Indian Buddhist sources that talk about 'mind-made bodies', but this is less referred to as an ability one can attain with training and practice, and more a power that Buddhas have.

It also holds some vague similarity to the Yidam, a sort of meditational focal point in the form of a Buddha, Bodhisattva or other Tibetan deity or spirit, that the practitioner visualises in vivid detail and then identifies themselves with, in an attempt to internalise their qualities and attributes (wisdom from Manjushri, good health from the Medicine Buddha, compassion from Green Tara, etc). This is considered a higher esoteric practices amongst Buddhists, though not a closed one: if you've done the necessary preliminary practices and been empowered and taught by a Lama or Guru to do the practice, it doesn't matter if you're Tibetan or not. Many practitioners will choose particular Yidams they focus on for whatever reason, and may refer to them as 'my Yidam', but it's important to note that such deities are agreed upon to already 'exist' with the only creation on the practitioners part being the mental image of them, rather than being created wholecloth by the practitioner.

There are older Western practices similar to tulpamancy, such as the Theosophical concept of the Thoughtform, which is described as simple ethereal objects that emanate from one's aura, generated by thoughts and feelings. Or the Fylgja, a sort of spirit of Germanic folklore that is a projection of one's own soul, often taking an animal form or a form of the opposite gender of their respective human. However in neither case is the entity, be it a thoughtform or a Fylgja, considered to be a separate, sentient being in the way a modern tulpa is.

So as far as I am able to glean, the modern practice of tulpamancy is just that: a modern idea. And as loathe as I am to say it, it seems like it mostly just originated from the /x/ board on 4Chan. Some well-read channer probably heard about David Neel and her supposed tulpa experience and decided the word would work great for this concept as they devised it.

Starting from the bare bones:

An endogenic system is basically any system that does not attribute its existence to trauma in the clinical sense. That can include spiritual frameworks, identity based frameworks, neurodivergent experiences that don’t fit DID/OSDD, cultural understandings of plurality, etc. It’s a very broad umbrella, not one single “type.”

A traumagenic system is what falls under DID, OSDD, and related diagnoses. That’s a medical framework rooted in western psychiatry, where plurality is understood as something that forms in response to trauma, usually early and repeated.

On their own, these are just two different frameworks for understanding plurality. Neither one is inherently tied to race or culture.

The issue is what “anti-endogenic” belief actually does with those categories.

Because anti-endo talkpoint is not just “I personally don’t relate to endogenic experiences.” It’s exclusively -

“Plurality only and exclusively exists as a trauma disorder”

“If it isn’t DID/OSDD it’s fake and/or roleplay”

“There is only one real origin for systems”

“Non-traumagenic systems are inherently harmful or appropriative”

And that stance becomes a problem because it treats a very specific, very recent, very western medical model as if it is the golden universal truth about how human identity works.

That’s where the racial and cultural aspect comes in.

Because plurality did not originate in the DSM. It did not originate in western psychiatry. And it has never been understood in only one way across cultures.

A lot of non-western and Indigenous cultures have long-standing, documented traditions that involve forms of plurality that are not framed as trauma disorders!

For example;

Across many Indigenous Turtle Island cultures, like mine! there are beliefs and practices involving multiple presences within a person, spirit relationships, or things like shared identity with non-human entities.

These are often spiritual, relational, or ceremonial, not pathologized. My own people recognize the modern diagnosis of DID/OSDD as real, but that’s not the only framework we have for understanding plurality.

In many West African traditions and religions and related systems, spirit possession and spirit co-presence are important, meaningful, and should be espected as experiences.

People can have ongoing relationships with spirits that permanantly inhabit or move through them. That is not treated as “you are disordered,” in those cultures even if they recognize both as existing.

In South and Southeast Asia, you have long histories of spirit mediums, trance states, and possession practices that are socially recognized and integrated. Again, not automatically medicalized.

Even when not explicitly labeled as “systems,” the idea that a person is not strictly singular in a western individualist sense is not foreign.

If you go back historically in Europe to those indigenous populations, there were also beliefs around possession, divine inspiration, multiple souls, external influences on identity, etc. These were not always treated as illness. They were often religious or spiritual interpretations.

Western psychiatry took a wide range of human experiences and said, “this specific subset, defined this specific way, is the correct and legitimate version, and everything else is either misinterpretation or pathology.”

That doesn’t mean western psychiatry is useless or wrong across the board. DID and OSDD are real conditions. Traumagenic systems are real and deserve recognition and care.

I am mixed origin. I have DID. I am literally traumagenic. I'm just also endogenic. And in my culture, off of tumblr where it matters, my people recognize that as a valid cultural experience.

But it does mean that when you take that framework and try to say

“This is the only valid explanation for plurality anywhere”

you are erasing every other cultural and spiritual framework that does not match it.

And that’s where anti-endo rhetoric becomes racist in actual tangible effect.

it’s enforcing a western, medicalized worldview as the only acceptable reality, and dismissing everything else as fake, harmful, or appropriative of 'real' systemhood (which a lot of the medical system actually does not recognize in the west, like, sorry but most doctors think we're all fake).

That’s a pattern that shows up in a lot of different contexts among (usually white, but not always) westerners or people who are so completely removed from anything other than their modern medical only culture, not just plurality

It’s the same underlying racist thought pattern.

this doesn’t mean every individual anti-endo is consciously thinking “I want to erase non-white cultures.” That’s not how racism usually works like most ppl are not mustache twirling cartoon bigots.

It’s more that they are operating inside a framework that has already centered western definitions as default, and then defending that framework as if it’s neutral and universal when it isn’t.

It also doesn’t mean every single endogenic system is rooted in culture or spirituality. Some are just personal identity frameworks. Some are neurodivergent experiences that don’t map cleanly onto DID/OSDD. Some are still figuring themselves out.

But anti-endo ideology doesn’t usually make those distinctions anyway and there's nothing wrong with those experiences either, but you can't separate any of those concepts from some flavor of racism or ableism anyway. It just flattens everything into “real vs fake,” with “real” defined exclusively by the medical system that doesn't have any business or interest in cultural beliefs, and trauma-based, clinically recognized systems.

plurality is just not one single thing with one single origin and one single explanation. It’s an extremely broad category of experiences that different cultures have interpreted in different ways for a very very VERY long time.

Anti-endos are taking one culturally specific framework and treating it like the only legitimate one, and in doing so, they are dismissing or invalidating other cultures’ (overwhelmingly BIPOC) understandings of similar experiences.

It’s not about denying that DID is an experience that deserves sympathy and care.

It’s about rejecting the idea that DID is the only way plurality can exist, and recognizing that insisting on that exclusivity has broad and nasty implications whether people intend it or not.
