But the idea of working with a partner is interesting to him mainly because he probably has the idea in his head that working with family is a bad idea . So being the spiteful little goblin he is he would be triumphantly waiting to watch them fall apart and just get pissy when that doesn't happen

-There was an incident where Castor went into Abel's office and came back out with half his head completely smashed. Abel insists that Castor did it to himself to spite him. Castor otherwise exhibits no self harming habits like this. ...The reality is that he did do it to himself. Unfortunately, Abel's history has made everyone doubtful of what he says. This sort of damage could be fixed relatively easy in this digital world, but Abel refuses to let Caine do that because he's very pissy about this entire situation that Castor has caused him.
