The same woman who rigorously policed her son's masculinity pretended to support me when I came out only to do a 180 once I actually went so far as to...cut my hair.

when i came out to my ex-boyfriend, he excitedly revealed he had a fetish for trans women and told me i could "get a dick but keep the tits"

i briefly dated someone who i later found out had a thing for pretending to support pre-op trans men because he thought they were, uh, 'easier' but still fully considered them to be women

i've been called a full-two-syllable-faggot more times than I can count, in person, to my face

my father would only gender me correctly when it was to make me the butt of a gay joke. he wrote a very long aggrieved poem on facebook mourning the loss of his "daughter." when an acquaintance told him that was kinda fucked up, several people rushed to his defense because he allegedly had transgender friends so of course he couldnt be bigoted.

i've been dismissed, condescended, actively insulted while in invol by the people who had control over when and if they would release me. I was misgendered by the very nurses that prepped me for my surgeries.
