   “Wait….” A pause as he glanced towards his glossy white coat and back up to the feline with furrowed brows. “Mangy – ?” A scoff. Was the former star a bit offended? Well, yes. Yes, he was. Besides Mittens, Bolt was still growing used to the concept that not all cats were bad. He was BETTER at least, but that didn’t stop his eyes from semi-rolling. 

     “Relax cat. I live with one of your kind. Hey - Wait a minute… “ The white german shepherd squinted as he took in her black, fuzzy face and white body. “You’re the one Mittens met the other day, aren’t you? She spoke of you…our new…neighbor?”

       Mittens . . . Mittens . . . the name sounded familiar . . . that’s right! That black cat she ran into during a little afternoon stroll in the big backyard had mentioned that she too lived with a pup, this must have been him.

   “ taako. hey, taako! ”        twin feels ignored, frankly, and lobs her lunch at him – hey, liches don’t really need to eat, and she’s had to eat way too many of these… tacos… ever since he learned how to make them.        “ you wanna tell me what’s so fascinating you can’t pay attention to the best sister of the century? ”

             Head jolted up at the hit, and body winced slightly as he felt the different ingredients explode on him. Not only was it a waste of his impeccable cooking ( and Joaquin’s brilliant recipe ), but also an attack on his impeccable style.   —- -    ❝  HEY ,  ❞    hand motioned towards clothes,    —- -    ❝  these are designer. ❞   Wizard sat up a bit straighter, dusting the pieces of food off robe, before retaliating by throwing back the thing that had him so distracted.

              Taako wouldn’t admit it, but he was scared. Incredibly scared. Behind the cocky attitude and devilish charm there was a worried kid who had to grow up quickly. A boy who traveled the land in search of a calling. A man who lived a hundred lives he couldn’t even remember. A wizard with a gigantic hole in his heart that he couldn’t figure out how to fill.  He would never let any of that show, he had to be strong, he just had to.

              Purple hues glanced at the bard, a smirk replacing neutral blank face. Her words gave him enough confidence to snap out of his funk, perhaps they held some bardic inspiration, or perhaps it was just exactly what he needed to hear.  Hand raised to hat, puling it down, making sure it was secure.
