Not a great experience. Up till about 6 or 7 it just seemed normal but when I realised other kids were dry at night the embarrassment and shame crept in. Teenage years were the most challenging and I was always very conscious about being different and desperate to keep it secret.

It wasn’t easy. I was embarrassed and ashamed about it so tried to hide it. Unfortunately quite a few of my extended family and my parents friends knew about it. That included all my cousins. That’s why it was discussed and I remember people asking my parents if I still wet at night and if I still wore nappies until my mid teens
