when they thought her heart had died, they removed the old and stuffed themselves inside her

We see her building legs for the Corrodi Maggots. We see them grow into a copied humanity. But I'm horrified by the implication that it was Ludmila herself who built the Corrodi their bodies by harvesting the fine mechanisms of dead, innocent Zernians. Did Ludmila, even before they took her heart out, ripped families and bodies apart? Did she build a reputation of science and engineering on the gore and innards of people like Sandy's parents or Torse's tribe? Did she know what she was doing?

I can only hope that the Corrodi Primarchs manipulated her into thinking that Zernians were unthinking machines or brought her already dead bodies. Or that she was guilt tripped into it by the Corrodi who, after all, nursed her back to health when she arrived through the door and don't they deserve recompense for that?
