Comfrey is such a lesson in being unwilling to take responsibility for your actions and allowing yourself to look at something through such a specific lens for so long that it warps your perception of reality. She doesn’t want to take accountability for her actions because it would mean having to face the fact that she was wrong, that running from adventure to adventure had to stop somewhere. She’s so full of this lust and zest for a dangerous life that she has no wish to look back and examine the past. Her behavior when she reunites with the crew of the Zephyr Mark 1 so starkly contrasts with them that it’s almost overwhelming to see Brennan act it out. The Zephyr 1 crew have had fun and have seen the beauty of adventure, but they’ve also seen what happens when you don’t take the time to take in the consequences.
