Etruria

The other day @lamichicuenta asked me how my ocs born and this is what happened.

Hetalia has taught us that nations can be born in many different ways, but Arezzo, Florence and Pisa are borned from Etruria and his first wife Alba Silvia.

Allow me to introduce you to Florence's older siblings, Arezzo and Pisa, and their father, Etruria.

All three are children from Etruria's first marriage, a human from the Latin tribe called Alba Silva. Therefore, they would also be descendants of Rome (Romulus), a.k.a. the Roman Empire, who would take them in as their grandfather and later adoptive father. Although these were his first children, they were not his only ones. Here you see the sexiest man on the Italian peninsula, which brought him numerous lovers (both men and women). And that is why he had so many offspring.

Although he was very protective and suspicious of his cities at first, shielding them from any foreign influence or attack, over time and overwhelmed by the number of his children, he began to be very carefree, caring only for his favourites. Not to mention that on countless occasions he turned to Rome as a babysitter. They were family, after all, weren't they?

Unlike Etruria, Rome was a good father and a very family-oriented man (mostly with the children of the Italian peninsula, don't ask other nations). Upon Etruria's death, Romulus took in all those little rebels as if they were his own children. He raised them with great affection and allowed them to flourish culturally and economically, growing much more than when they were under their father's control. Although many loved him more than their own father, Etruria's favourites were not so thrilled with the ‘change of government’. Nevertheless, even Etruria's favourite sons were satisfied with Romulus' treatment for more than 600 years and did not live as well and comfortably as they did with him until the unification of Italy in the 19th century.

Hates: some of her siblings, bad taste, those who hinder her plans, France, the Holy Roman Empire and the Papacy (depending on the era), contagious diseases, disorder and vulgarity, art without purpose, excessive modernity without roots, mediocrity, the people who forget the past, bankers who ruin her reputation, lack of courage or motivation.

Small disclaimer: In my AU, countries (regions, provinces, counties, etc.) can have children with humans. However, the nation where the human was born becomes the grandfather or grandmother of that new personification. Example: Etruscan (nation) slept with a human woman from Rome (Roman Empire) and became the father of Pisa, Florence, and Arezzo. Since the human woman came from the Roman Empire, her "maternal grandfather" (and adoptive father when Etruscan died) is the Roman Empire, but they are not related by blood.

Let me introduce you to Florence. She turned her back on her greatest poet (Dante) in favour of other artists, and now she keeps crying to Ravenna to give him back.
