Hullo! You're writing is marvelous! Could you do a Loki imagine where he's ruling Asgard and falls in love with a servant he found singing, but he can't be his usual flirty self because he's disguised as Odin? All the awkward/cutesy fluff xD
A/N: Why thank you so much, anon!! I actually really like this prompt so I had a bit of fun. XD
Y/F/N- your family/fatherās name
You had been quietly playing and singing for a group of children who listened, enraptured by your beautiful voice. It was your pride and joy to sing, and you couldnāt help but cave when a group of children had begged you to keep singing for them. Youād been giving them a sort of concert of sorts, some of them even going to sleep before you received a special guest. Your king, Odin, leaned a hand against a pillar as the children scurried up, waking up their friends with laughter and left you with him. You quickly stand and bow but he waves a hand with a chuckle.Ā
āNo no, my dear, please continue. Itās quite a lovely sound.ā He encouraged, smiling under his white beard. You blink and hesitantly smile back, sitting back down and prepare to play again.Ā
āThat one was a sonnet of some of your adventures.ā You say quietly and he lets out a soft laugh.Ā
āDo you⦠request anything, your majesty?ā You look back up at him and he drums his fingers on the pillar.Ā
āHow about your name, my dear.ā You blink, slowly tilting your head. Odin has been acting differently ever since Loki had died and Thor had left to Midgard. He had never been quite so expressive, and heād never shown any interest in your singing, or anyoneās singing for that matter.Ā
āItās Y/N, daughter of Y/F/N.ā You finally say, gently strumming a few notes on your instrument. He let out a softĀ āahā of acknowledgement, and you looked down at your fingers. After a moment of melodic indecision, your hands settled on a familiar song. It was a very old sonnet, one that had nearly been forgotten. You continued to sing under Odinās eyes, and a few times you thought that he might have opened his mouth to say something, then closed it again. When you finished, you were smiling with fond memories.Ā
āThat was beautiful,ā Odin said with an oddly soft smile.Ā
āThank you,ā You said with a grateful smile. āItās a pleasure to play for you, your majesty.ā It really was, even if you felt awkward about it. Your talents were known, yes, but only ever in the mundane sense.Ā
āThe pleasure was all mine, Y/N,ā Odin spoke with a strange tone, almost strained like he was attempting to stop something. You shook your speculations away. This was Odin, after all, he was your King. You bowed your head with a smile. āI hope to hear you again,ā He said suddenly, turning to walk away. āGoodbye, Y/N.ā Odinās words left you in a shock, blinking in confusion as he swept away. What was that?
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ~oOo~
Your odd encounters with Odin continued, at first sparingly. as they become more frequent, your suspicions were raised. Why would Odin talk to someone like you? You were a servant, who spent your spare time singing for children. The whole ordeal was rather confusing. You were thinking this over as you walked the halls of the palace, in between jobs. You had a small gate of time that you had to yourself, and you found yourself wondering into the surprisingly empty throne room. You slowly walked forward, slowly taking in all the sights of the beautiful hall. Subconsciously you began humming, listening to how the sound flowed in the hall. It reverberated amazingly, as expected from the Throne Room of Odin.Ā
āIt is a rare beauty to hear your voice in my hall,ā a voice startled you, causing you to spin around as he continued,Ā ālet alone to see you in it. Welcome, Y/N.ā Odin. Your eyes grew wide as he approached you, and you quickly bowed.
āYour majesty, I deeply apologize for my intrusion,ā You rushed out, trying to ignore the fondness found in Odinās voice.Ā āI was only-ā
āThere is no need to apologize, love.ā His voice had changed, and you looked up quickly. The lost prince stood before you, where Odin had only seconds before. You thought it wasnāt possible for your eyes to get any wider. Your mouth fell open but ne held a finger up to his lips with a coy smile, then transformed back into Odin right before your eyes. He motioned his head to where some guards were walking in, implying a secret to be covered up. Your mind was blank as he nodded his head to you like the two of you had just finished a conversation.Ā āwell then, I shall call for you to preform later today.ā What did he⦠You bowed again quickly.Ā
āThank you, your majesty,ā You rushed out, hoping that your nervousness and shock played off as excitement. You kept your head down as you left, trying to comprehend what just happened. Odin was not ⦠Odin, but Loki? It would explain the behavior change, but ⦠Your mind needed a break. surely your dear friend Sena would understand your not being there. You left the hall and wove your way to the gardens. Nothing helped you find your mind better than mindless playing and being outdoors. You kept your instrument in a specific hidden place when you couldnāt carry it, in a tree that your family had often sat around. grabbing your instrument alone gave you a healthy sense of peace, and you sat down to sing. Your thoughts wondered over what you had just witnessed, until you came to terms with what happened.Ā
You had always thought that the Trickster God was attractive, much like other women in Asgard. He had never taken the time to notice you before, which was expected. You were a servant, after all. But now? He had seen you. What would this entail?
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ~oOo~
It seems that Odin - no, Loki - really did want to see you. Not to preform, however. It was a private place for you to talk, where he shed his illusion. It was absolutely overwhelming, in the best way. The two of you talked for ages it seemed, and also like no time at all. Soon enough it was time for you to go, and he bid you goodnight.Ā
That was the first of many secret meetings. You almost wondered if the two of you were becoming too close, given the narrowly missed slip ups he had nearly caused himself. It was a miracle you had even made it to this meeting, in all honesty. You looked down at Loki, threading your fingers through his hair. He was reading, leaving you to your thoughts. You smiled, then tipped your head back to look at the ceiling. What was it you were just thinking about? oh, yes. Loki, almost blowing his own cover. You laughed quietly as your mind fastened on a specific event.Ā
You were singing, to children who were absolutely charming and insisted on singing with you. Your small group of cuteness stumbled through a few verses of a unknown melody, laughingĀ and stopping frequently. It was the most fun you had had in a while, if you were honest. Loki strolled by, as Odin, and stopped to listen. The children could not see him, but you did, and you smiled at him. He smiled back, walking behind the children as stealthily as he could. They seemed to deem him as a passerby, and kept singing with a sort of reckless abandon that only a child could have.Ā
āWhat a scene I have found myself upon,ā He suddenly said, scaring the children a bit. They hastily bowed to them, but you just smiled.Ā
āHello, Your Majesty. It is nice to see you,ā You said truthfully. the two of you hadnāt gotten to hang out often because of kingly things that you weren'tĀ involved in. He smiled, and watched as the children excused themselves to theirĀ motherās calls. He sat next to you.Ā āno guards?ā you asked cautiously. He shook his head.
āNot this time, darling.ā He said in his own voice. You couldnāt help but smile a bit. He had begun to lean a bit closer when the official call of the guards rang out. You stifledĀ a chuckle as he lurched into a standing position. Honestly, you were surprised that the guards handāt caught on yet.Ā
āYour Majesty, itās time to -ā Loki cut them off with a sharp wave of his hand, striding away with what looked like an almost embarrassedĀ expression on his face. That made you laugh a bit more, and -
āAnd what are you chuckling about?ā Lokiās voice startled you from your memories. You looked down at him fondly.Ā
āNothing, I promise,ā You said with a easy smile. He made a disbelieving noise, setting his book down. He didnāt believe you, and you knew it. He sat up, narrowing his eyes at you playfully. Loki leaned closer.Ā
āMmhmm, I totally believe you,ā He said with a mocking giggle. You protested a bit, eyes trailing over his beautiful face and settling on his lips, which had twitched into a knowing smirk. Your were hot and most likely red as he pressed a kiss to your lips, an underlying hunger burning just below everything. However, Loki pulled away, settling himself in your lap again with his book.Ā
āsing for me please?ā
He asked after a long moment of peaceful silence. Now there was something you could do.Ā
