I wanted to document this somewhere other than twitter because it was a simple human interaction that tickled me to death, but anyway, relevant backstory: a couple weeks ago I thrifted a CAT brand baseball cap for like $1.99 after making a joke about ryan gosling wearing them to cosplay as construction workers. it's just a silly thing in the PHM fandom idek, he was always wearing Caterpillar machinery merch around the time The Fall Guy came out in 2024 for some endorsement deal they did. but I've been wearing my hat on hair wash days and people like it for whatever reason, I must evoke some kind of vibe anyway I ran errands with my mother all damn day yesterday, and our last stop of the night was the grocery store at 9pm. going through the line at publix all the baggers were busy elsewhere so as I start bagging up all the groceries the 20yo-ish cashier gazes at me and goes "you look like a celebrity!" and was like hyping me up for my hat and tattoos and jewelry and stuff 😭 her follow-up to that made me laugh because she said I look like I should be a country music star which is funny as fuck but in this economy I'll take what I can get. sure I look like a trashy woman singing country music but if I look famous we're gucci baby 💅
