On June 18th, 2014, 12 year old Fred Vesti had an accident that resulted in 1st and 2nd degree burns to both of his hands. ->
"OOOOOHHHH NOOOOO! Frederik has had an accident today, where he has suffered 1st and 2nd degree burns on both hands. It's questionable if he will start this weekends 7th and 8th division of DSK in Rødby"
Fred and his friends had been trying to make grease/lubricant in a pan on the stove for their scooters (without permission or supervision from Fred's mom). The pan caught fire. 12 year old Fred didn't want the grease fire to spread inside, so he grabbed the pan and quickly brought it outside. Both of his hands we're burned in the process.

June 19th, 2014, Fred and his father, Peter Vesti, Travel to Rødby for the nest round of DSK, still unsure if Fred will be able to participate.
"So we have turned our noses to Rødby! Frederik has wrapped his hands very well, and we'll see tomorrow if it's possible to participate. One thing's for sure - it's going to hurt, but Frede isn't giving up just like that! Fingers crossed!"
June 20th, 2014, Vesti Racing arrives in Rødby and prepares at the track for the next day. ->
"So Vesti Racing is ready for DSK in Rødby. Frederik is ready and the kart is ready. It will be mega exciting tomorrow"
June 21st, 2014, Fred did get out and do the practice and test drives prior to the final race.
"Frederik ran the fastest time in today's timing. In the first preliminary heat, he raced his way to 2nd place :) It doesn't look like his burned hands will keep him from getting out there and racing"
His father said this about his hands in the comments: "They are at least good enough for him to drive. It hurts when he has to wear gloves but he uses his big brother Emil's gloves and it's fine"
Fred was then promptly run over by another karter during the 2nd heat, causing a red flag. Fred, 12 years old with burned hands, had to replace his own spark plug to get himself back into the race. ->
"Frederik was run over at the start of the 2nd heat when a competitor came flying over him. This resulted in a broken spark plug, and a red flag. The red flag gave Frederik time to put in a new spark plug (the mechanic cannot touch the kart while the race is underway) and he came back in to the field but was at the back. Frederik worked his way up to 10th but will start the final from 3rd anyway"
Later that same day, Fred would drive in the final race of the day ->
"Frederik finished the final in 2nd place and scores yet again some nice points for the championship! A really good result considering the hand injuries! The team will now see if they can find that last bit of speed so that a victory in tomorrow's race becomes possible"

Fred would race again in 3 heats the next day, June 22nd, 2014. A small mistake in heat 1 left him in 3rd place, though he would pull the fastest laps of the day. Heat 2 he would finish 2nd.
In the 3rd and final heat, Fred would once again finish the race in 2nd place, not the result he was hoping for, but nonetheless extending his championship lead.
