How do I say "I understand that pornography is predominantly made for straight men" and "Pornography, particularly made by corporate entities, is horribly exploitative and predatory to its talent, who are predominantly women, and anything that wasn't made by small groups of artists is morally questionable to support or consume" while also getting across more advanced ideas like "pornography is an art form that says a lot about what we consider profane, repulsive, compelling, and/or erotic" and "the prevailing idea that porn entirely exists to subjugate women and corrupt young men is short-sighted and fascistic" and also maybe even "the idea that gross or disturbing porn you find is only about eroticizing the harm it causes to a woman is...equal parts misogynistic, misandristic, and damn near homophobic, as if gay men don't watch a little bit of guro every now and again, or as if women aren't into CNC ever"?

i think people should stop looking at their family as anything special. you would probably hate half of those people if you met them in a different context. are your memories with them actually good or are they arbitrary and forced by convention? you can have good memories with people you grew up with, I'm not saying you can't have reasons to like your family, but don't mistake growing up with someone for good memories. give yourself permission to hate your families more. you owe them nothing that they haven't earned (and keeping you alive is a minimum, not a gift).

I find that marxist analysis gets more traction when you cut out the jargon but retain the reasoning. it's more legible to the average person, and if you're doing good analysis you don't need jargon to justify what you're saying. when propagandizing, that's often quite useful.

I do think most childhoods are pretty traumatic just, by default. even run of the mill taking your shit, grounding you, setting strict rules (which would be absurd for an adult) style parenting. Physical and sexual violence on top of that is more fuel to the fire, and certainly contributes a heavy mental load, but children are fundamentally not treated like people by most of the world. They're an investment; a form of useful property that might someday become an endebted human being. This is the context under which all child abuse occurs; but the context itself is rather deplorable, don't you think?
