Really grinds my gears when people say reading is a privilege. It's absolutely a right and if you are illiterate your government and your community failed you beyond belief. You have a right to be literate and a right to understand the world around you proficiently. You should not be cheated by hucksters who say one thing and write another, you should not fall victim to misleading headlines, and you should be able to read for pleasure because it is one of life's greatest gifts.

I just checked the inbox for this blog for the first time in years and it looks like I previously made quite a splash with the "angry teenagers looking to cram words into other people's mouths and misinterpret people's art in the most harmful and purposely negative way possible" fandom. Very cool!
