a wip preview for day one :3c
Piano Man steps away, lips curled in amusement as he turns. "Ice," he says, letting fondness fill the nickname he hasn't spoken in far too long. "It's been a while."
"…Ten years," Iceman says, and the gun in his hands doesn't waver.
"Ten years," Piano Man agrees. "You've aged well."
"And you haven't aged a day."
Behind him, Piano Man can hear Lippman move, quiet and careful, but he draws no attention to it. "No, not a day since that night."
Iceman's expression doesn't change, but something in his eyes… shifts. "I never thought that you'd come back to Yokohama."
"It was easier, to go," he admits. "But I couldn't stay away."
"The deaths in the theater district are yours, then."
"Some of them, certainly. I may no longer be human, Ice, but my methods are still the same," Piano Man says with amusement. "I no longer need specialty gloves, even."
"Can't let me do that? Is that really what you're going to say?" He steps closer, but stills when Iceman puts his finger to the trigger. "Really."
"I won't let you keep doing this."
"You couldn't bring yourself to put me down then, and I doubt you can actually do it now," Piano Man says softly. "And even if you can, you've made a grave miscalculation."
Iceman's eyes widen, and he spins, but it's already too late, and Lippman bears down on his throat with fangs extended.
