The nightwings are black and gray with some white scales like stars, so I see a decent amount of human designs make him Black. But, the nightwings are incredibly in universe racist. They used to have mind reading powers, and lie to the entire world saying they still do to try and maintain their power. Their home has become inhabitable, so they plan to kidnap/attack a different species of dragons to take over their home which has an abundance of food and water due to being in a jungle. And stages a coup with a different species to do this. The nightwing main character I'd be redesigning, Starflight, was not raised by nightwings and doesn't have their same superiority complex (because he doesn't have powers and so thinks he's broken and not powerful like the other nightwings), and struggles with the idea of what he had been told (Nightwings are the best) and the truth (Nightwing are kinda mega racist).

Basically, he is physically the color black but very allegorically white, so I worry it would be disrespectful regardless? Any lessons or thoughts you have about this would be appreciated.

(did not capitalize black in most cases because I was referring to black the color not Black people but I apologize if I did it wrong and was supposed to capitalize regardless)
