diary of a wimpy kid is just a very funny book series on its own but its really completed by the fact that in their default models basically every character looks like they just saw someone get shot in the head execution style
im so intrigued by how jeff kinney takes two dots and a line on a cartoony head and manages to convey this expression of complete ennui and silent horror all at once
Do I have dyscalculia or am I just out of practice from not being in school in years and struggle with size scaling because I hardly ever leave my room
this pride month, keep the disabled queer people in mind who can't celebrate pride the 'regular way' aka by going to parades and lots of events. keep the homebound, bedbound, and other disabled queers who can't go in mind. those people who see everyone else party and are unable to attend. text them, wish them a happy pride, visit them and celebrate in a way that works for them. it's already hard not to be able to go to all of these events, it's even harder to be left behind because of it.

World Heritage Post
i deserve a medal for this post. not because i was particularly funny but because i survived an onslaught of nearly one hundred gimmick blogs in the wake of this post popping off, and the fact that i didnât try to track any of them down and snuff them out with my bare hands is a testament to my immeasurable strength and should be rewarded. at one point i had âthe official letter hâ add on to this post. you wanna know that blogâs gimmick? the really funny and original and worthwhile gimmick the official letter h blog had? yep you guessed it they just gave me the god damned letter H and then fucked off. only jesus knows the suffering i endured over that harsh winter, and he wept for me

You ever think about many peices of media have zero women and thats just perfectly normal but if a peice of media has an all female cast people get... like that? Women should be allowed to kill over this btw
same but it's black people
That's right

75% of writing is convincing yourself that your story is worth it
It is. In case you were wondering. Your story is worth the effort you are putting into it. Itâs an amazing thing because you are writing it.
i support universal free healthcare for one simple reason: if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness you should quit your job. quitting your job is the correct response to terminal illness. but you canât do that if your healthcare is tied to your job
listen if somebody knows that they will be dead in a years time, and you are forcing them to continue to come into work, thatâs fucked up. terminally ill people should be able to quit their jobs and live their last few months to the fullest. i donât get how thatâs a controversial opinion
âThe LEGO Movie was my favorite movie of 2014, but it strikes me that the main character was male, because I feel like in our current culture, he HAD to be. The whole point of Emmett is that heâs the most boring average person in the world. Itâs impossible to imagine a female character playing that role, because according to our pop culture, if sheâs female sheâs already SOMEthing, because sheâs not male. The baseline is male. The average person is male. You can see this all over but itâs weirdly prevalent in childrenâs entertainment. Why are almost all of the muppets dudes, except for Miss Piggy, whoâs a parody of femininity? Why do all of the Despicable Me minions, genderless blobs, have boy names? I love the story (which I read on Wikipedia) that when the director of The Brave Little Toaster cast a woman to play the toaster, one of the guys on the crew was so mad he stormed out of the room. Because he thought the toaster was a man. A TOASTER. The character is a toaster. I try to think about that when writing new charactersâ is there anything inherently gendered about what this character is doing? Or is it a toaster?â
â Bojack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg commenting on how weird gendered defaults in entertainment are, and why we should think twice about them. Excerpted from this longer original post. (via 360degreesasthecrowflies)

âDo it scaredâ âdo it aloneâ are all great tips, but my biggest takeaway from therapy is do it messy. This is especially true if youâre getting out of a burnout, which I experience often. Literally just do it messy. You donât need to pick the perfect trail to walk, the perfect playlist to listen to, whatever the fuck it is. You donât need to have a meticulous to do list and wake up at the exact time you planned and drink the exact amount of water you planned to drink. Like the biggest thing for people like me to remember is sometimes itâs okay to do it messy. Put on a random yt workout and just get it done in sweats. Do 5 minutes of a daunting task and go from there. Sometimes just getting up is a win during intense burnouts or depressive funks. Literally just do it messy.
[AGGRESSIVELY DOESNâT MAKE ANY ATTEMPT ATÂ INTERACTIONÂ BUT STILL WANTS TO BE YOUR FRIEND]
If they're announcing Deltarune Chapter 5 now, will the next update be...Chapters 6 and 7? >:3c
I don't know who my intended audience is here, so whoever needs to hear this, I am begging you to learn to participate in conversations that are about things you aren't interested in.
Part of socializing and having friends is being a good listener even when you don't actually give a shit about the subject.
Your are hurting other people's feelings when you bluntly respond with "Anyway..." and then change the topic.
It can not always be about your preferred topic.
You are being rude. Yes, even if you are neurodivergent. You can be both autistic and rude.
the human brain is so cool, if you're tired and stressed enough, your brain will go, "don't worry, I got you" and shadows will start moving
and what's the genital situation on the shadows

[ID: an image of a skeleton lifting a large barbell. There's text that reads "MY BODY IS A MACHINE THAT DOESN'T WORK very good". All of the words except "very good" are in all caps. /END ID]
i get that americans love their cultural imperialism, but it really does piss me off that june is âinternationalâ pride month just because something happened in the united states.
in aotearoa, june isnât our pride, itâs theirs. marsha p johnson and sylvia rivera are their historical figures, not ours. the phrase that âyou owe your rights to Black trans womenâ is true there, but here we owe our rights to (mostly) MÄori historical figures. i have the freedoms i do because of the legacy of an entirely different set of people operating in an entirely different context at entirely different times.
But because of american cultural imperialism, most queer people in Aotearoa donât even know our own queer history. Carmen Rupe, Ngahuia Te Awekotuku, the Dorian Society, Gillian Laundon, Georgina Beyer, and the Wolfenden Association are some of our queer history. We should know their names! we should know what they did for us! but because of the power of the american imperial machine, we donât.
our national pride month should be july, the month that the Homosexual Law Reform Act passed in 1986. our two largest cities hold their pride festivals in february and march, respectively. american queer history has very little (or nothing, depending on who you ask) to do with our queer history. anecdotally, from my own queries, queer youth in aotearoa know more about american queer history than our own.
anyway, happy pride, americans. iâm truly sorry that most of you donât see the negative impact your nationâs culture has on the rest of the world. and to the rest of the world reading this, try searching for your own country and cultureâs queer history, donât accept the american narratives as your own. we deserve our own histories divorced from the cultural hegemony of the USA.
Important addition by @crabussy
hi guys. I'm seeing a lot of very upset people in the comments and while I understand being on edge when confronted like this, I think I should clarify a few things about the post.
OP is not saying marsha p johnson and sylvia rivera are unimportant, or to blame for so many places in the world not knowing their own queer history. she is saying that in aotearoa, different people in history have been responsible for queer rights being fought for. there is no hatred here for either of those people. they were just examples of influential american queer historical figures.
OP is not saying YOU SPECIFICALLY are to blame for people globally knowing more about american queer history than their own history. YOU celebrating pride in june and talking about your historical figures is fine and good. keep it up, it's genuinely important. the blame is on cultural imperialism, which is not perpetuated by any one person or any small group. it's purely the massive reach and influence the US has over other countries.
finally, I'm seeing a lot of people saying "it's your own fault for not knowing your own queer history, I learned MY queer history, so this is your own fault": hi. I'm from aotearoa. it was drilled into me from basically the moment I realised I was queer that I owe ALL my rights to american historical figures. especially within online spaces, when I was younger, I was exposed to so many posts stating that EVERY queer person has rights because of specific american events. I believed that!!! I learned more about queer history in the US because I truly believed that it was the dominant force behind why I had any rights. I saw that sentiment so often that I stopped even thinking about it. it just felt like the basic truth to me. only very recently did I discover the massive and intricate history my own country has when it comes to queer rights.
