((OOC:
So, I am contemplating deleting this account. I donât ever get to role-play on here and just generally feelâŚ.I donât knowâŚnot unwanted, but unnecessary. People here are awesome and nice to follow and read up on so thatâs something I really appreciate, but I donât feel like anyone is interested in playing with me. Now I have a couple theories as to thy this may be and some explanations.
#1. The most likely reason- I am not a good role-player
This is unfortunate because I know I can be a good writer when I get someone to challenge me to do better, or I just get very into mindset of the characters I am writing for. It appears to me, however, Iâd had a difficult time channeling my muse here. This is likely due to the fact that I am unwittingly ignorant to an extent as to the inner-workings of my own muse. I have made, and am continuing to make efforts to alleviate this ignorance though and present a better, more complex, Axel. Â This becomes increasingly difficult though when I have no one but myself to expand the character with. That said, its ultimately my own fault. I knew a morsel of information about Axel when I made the account and wanted to learn more, but have failed to do so in a productive way.
#2 Another possibly likely reason- People really hate Axel the character that much
In which case there really is no hope for me, because the only way I can see getting around that would be to go completely off character and create a congenial, generous, happy-go-lucky Axel that would basically be a sell-out.
So now this is where I stand- Asking for help
In the case that I am just not up to par as a role-player (which I believe is likely to be more than accurate) what suggestions/exercises/sell my soul for talent ideas does anyone have to make me better? I really enjoy the medium here for roleplaying and donât want to give up on it, but at the same time I donât want to frustrate/get frustrated for not receiving a good roleplay experience.Â
If anyone would care to help, Iâd really appreciate it.))
(( Iâm not sure if it will help, but what I did when I first made Evan was I went to a few Character Development blogs and did some of the exercises to get kind of in the groove for writing. It gave me something to do and helped me think of ways to create starters until I could interact more because Iâm very very shy. I still struggle to make starters and the like, or Iâd offer to help in that sense, but youâre free to poke Evan anytime you want, dear. uwu
((Thank you, I'm gonna check that out and work on it. (and I'd love to poke Ev sometime, haha ))
